Skid Row would be classed as hard rock and Sepultura as thrash. To be honest i dont give a damn about genres, all that matters is you enjoy it

Genre doesn't matter, I listen to almost anything from classical to death metal, but this is the metal thread after all, which is why I said it.

Progressive death djent grindcore...? Who knows/cares. These guys are certainly in a league of their own though.

just spent an hour or so on YouTube listening to a lot of this

its not bad stuff, but I think there is probably one or two I could get into (just need to give them all another go)

New Bloodbath which sounds a lot like RiC except Nick Holmes(Paradise Lost) is the new vocalist and doesn't seem as well suited as Akerfeldt or Tagtgren.
