One of their more straight forward tracks but, bum me, it ain't half solid!
I really hope there'll be a DVD/BD of their final New York shows released, only seen a few vids floating around on YouBoob.

This brings me nicely back around to mike patton, amazing band sorely missed, and the ep with Mike was incredible

So at peoples recommendations I checked out
Niil, sounded exactly like nirvana on that first album, not bad but the song writing is a bit boring, singer wants to be kurt.

Bloodywood - smashing band really enjoyed it and made me lol multiple times, very silly but great, pretty heavy with some chunky riffs too, cool angry Indians with rap that almost ruins it apart from the comedy value.

****** up - was interesting but a bit tame for my tastes, some nuggets in there but rare and the rest of the tracks just boredom and thinking they were experimental, but actually just not.

Mutoid man - cool hard rock /thrash hybrid was pretty solid with good vocals and nice riffs going on, again not really heavy as of like but I enjoyed it in an easy listening kinda way.

To the people that suggested these bands thanks a lot, I will probably try and check out everything people post here that I haven't heard before and look forward to it immensely

I'm really looking forward to see Bloodywood at Wacken Open Air :P Already put aside some money for a band tshirt with them :D There is some pretty cool stuff coming from Asia metalwise. Unfortunately I will be missing The Hu when they play in UK as I'm away that week. But I will finally get to see Astronoid in November. What I've found Astronoid have never played outside the US and now they will be supporting Periphery :)

I must check out the hu and Astronoid, what are they all about?

I'm spamming a bit but TFN are fantastic! That's now one of my favourite music videos, doesn't get old. Incredibly good live band too.
Come back to the thread, i need some more new music, ghengis tron are great i will be spamming that for a week or so.

I give to you - Twelve stone toddler, a british band from brighton i believe not well known but their production is amazing and the songs are really very catchy and different, a bit like somewhere between mr bungle and faith no more, very solid and straight with interesting styles of songs and instruments. The first album is probably the greater of the two , Come back, rabbit from a hat and fingers in the till being the stand outs, but all good.

I LOVE Mutoid Man, an interesting mix of heavy drumming (as always from Ben Koller) lighter vocals and eclectic guitar work. Bleeder was my favourite album of 2005. I'll have a look through for some more recommendationings when I get home. Twelve Stone Toddler sound grand

Irony is a Dead Scene is superb, indeed. I believe he performed the EP in its entirety with the band during one of those farewell shows (iirc).

You're welcome, brother (you discovered DEP first but didn't explore much, I then went crazy on them so the bragging rights are mine)!

I'll revisit mutoid man and their eponomous "Bleeder" album at your recommendation

I loved dillinger since I heard 43% burnt on an old as hell terrorizer cd from way back when

Check out my edit. ;) I shall check them out. Try their Helium Head EP too, Scavengers is a stupendous song!

As for DEP it was actually Unretrofied that drew me to the, I loved Greg's vocals and so went and listened to Miss Machine. Wow, Panasonic Youth and We are the Storm blew me away. Calculating Infinity and Under the Running Board took longer to click but I thoroughly enjoy them now. I had heard 43% Burnt and Monticello previously but at the time despite loving the former riff neither appealed to me.

DEP as whole opened up the door to bands like Converge and Botch (spazzcore?) as Aztec2Step used to call them).

Nice, the entire of both albums are pretty stunning and weird that they are not more famous, their songs are far better than 80% of the shizzle I hear that is established

It genuinely puzzles me too, the issue with a lot of heavier bands is that the vocals put more casual listeners off but here Brodsky's vocals are much more accessible.

I got the feeling there were crossed wires there but it definitely applies to MM. Twelve Foot Ninja too, I'd have thought they'd be bigger than they are by now.
