* The Metal Thread *

So far the new Nile album isn't quite early-days level, but the best thing they've done in years.

not really doing a lot for me. they are trying a few new things but the formula is the same, the riffs, George kollias drumming, the new vocalist hasn't really brought that new a voice
it's all well executed but a tad boring and too familiar sounding for me. i've been listening to them for 19 years at this point so indifference is bound to happen :p
first listen and opinions can change but....

Can people start posting their metal album/s of the year please.

Most listened to physical purchase (vinyl) has probably been Green Lung's Woodland Rites.

Otherwise I'd probably list my favourites, in no particular order, as follows:

Idle Hands - Mana
Lunar Shadow - The Smokeless Fires
Mammoth Weed Wizard *Bar-steward* - Yn Ol I Annwn
Warcrab - Damned in Endless Night
Palace in Thunderland - The King of the Empty Aeon

I'm listening to this right now. I like it.

It reminds me of a few things. Joy Division and Therapy.

Idle hands is definitely the pick of the bunch.
