* The Metal Thread *

I know they aren't metal any more really, but the new Anathema album is mindblowing, truly a work of beauty.

Still they play many metal festivals. Its a shame they are so underrated considering the journey their music has taken and how unique they are.. criminal!

Anyway hope there's no prob posting a track as a lot of Anathema's fans come from the metal background..
Sadly seems the new songs are being removed from the Tube as soon as they are up so heres a classic track vs its recent reworking.. Which I must say is awesome!

One of my favourite early Doom metal Anathema tracks

And here it is reworked on their 2011 compilation.. Just as awesome in a new light.

Turns out the new album Devin was talking about is called Epicloud and seems to be similar to Addicted. However it seems that he is also working on the new Ziltoid album, called Z2 for now, which could be released sometime later this year.
According to their facebook account Anaal Nathrakh have also been working on a follow up to Passion. Seeing as Passion only came out last year I'd be surprised if they released a new album this year.

Granted it's all personal opinion but for me this and their album before just hits home harder, they seemed to try harder then:

I'm not sure yet if I like it more than older albums, but it certainly is up to par with all of thier other albums, it's a different style. Certainly thier darkest album. Have you heard the whole album? I never thought it was possible to surpass Nothing or Catch ThirtyThree.

What's new about it :confused:

New? I didn't mean it was new as in 'never before heard' :p

The album as a whole is technically brilliant, I already consider it a masterpiece, it blew my mind on the first listen. The band is such a great asset to Metal as a whole, their creativity and technical ability never ceases to amaze me.

"We all rip off Meshuggah"

Anyone seeing Meshuggah on their UK tour?

Yes I am, absolotely cannot wait :)

Did I mention that the new album is ******* INCREDIBLE!

They're in Bristol on April 12th and there's standing still going for that, or Norwich on the 18th, again, standing available. Also Wolverhampton and Manchester.
