New album is really growing on me, my first listen through I thought it was very meh. The Axe and the Fall are probably my favourites atm.

Went to Combichrist gig on Monday and gotta say it was absolutely awesome...2 of the support were great with one of them called "jayce lewis" and 1 of the support was terrible called "the surgeons"...absolutely awful! However the rest of the gig was brilliant. Definite thumbs up from me.

Enjoying the new Grand Magus album at the moment, pretty much a traditional sounding Metal album, nothing here that's particularly original but it's chock full of nice riffing and soaring melodies, really enjoyable listen and worth checking out if you like gimmick & bull-**** free, old school sounding metal.

Surgyn :p They wouldn't be to your taste probably if you're a metal fan.

Combichrist really aren't metal though!

Anyway this week I've been listening to plenty of Fear Factory. Always been a fan of Demanufacture and the odd song here and there but never really properly listend to their other albums.

Thats the one :D *shudders* hehe. Its like they tried to mix lady GaGa with Combichrist :(.

And yeah Combi may not be metal but not bad all the same. I just like there industrial type sound.

Can anyone reccomend me some bands similar to Iron Maiden?

I'm not a big fan of Maiden themselves but I've liked bands that sound similar, not many I can mention since I haven't really explored this style but I enjoy bruce dickinsons solo stuff, gamma ray, edguy and a few other bands.

Just find Maiden a bit dry and humourless, but I enjoy the musicianship that goes along with the style they play.

New or old bands I don't mind, would help if they were on grooveshark.

Thanks

Ok I can't stress this enough - I can't stand po faced bands.

Iced Earth are too serious, judas priest also.

I'll try Saxon, thanks.
