* The Metal Thread *

Unrelated; the new Converge/Napalm Death split has just been released.
This is a very good cover of the Entombed version.

I completely love the original song, but this cover is immense too. It's great having Aaron Turner on there and Tomas Lindberg too!

The intro is just so damn crunchy :)

I'm not a big fan of High on Fire, but I think Blessed Black Wings is amazing.

Have a track

Hmm maybe I should check out their earlier stuff. I like this album but the stuff they've done since is a bit meh imo.

I'm the same with High on Fire. Blessed Black Wings is a great album, and song, but their other albums are just ridiculously one dimensional in my opinion. Gets old very quickly.

Absu followed by that every-band-sounds-like-this teen angst? Really?! Hmkay buddy.

Metal legitimacy restored:

And for old school greatness:

Teen angst? Really? Should I have picked a more Kvlt underground black metal band?
I don't care for genres or classification so I'll happily listen to anything that takes my fancy. Into the Moat for what it's worth are nothing like your description.

Hey mate, my comment wasn't intended as being antagonistic towards your track choices, you just happened to be last poster. Edited to save any confusion.

No it's cool, was just offering you something else is all. Quite liked that track but the vocals would take me some getting used to.

Yeah really, that sort of rhythm and vocal style has been done to death by backward cap wearing Pantera shirt wearers the world over. I'm entitled to my opinion as much as anyone else. It's not like I've told you you can't listen to it or called you something derogatory... Yet ;)

New Anaal Nathrakh album information/trailer coming soon according to their facebook page.
Shame my copy of When Fire Rains Down... snapped last week.

Edit: Earache Records have a 50% off sale on their ebay site. A few really decent albums on there with Arsis and Decapitated the most notable.

I've heard a few songs from Periphery II which were good but is the album an improvement on their S/T?

I bought Anterior - Echoes of the Fallen the other week and have to say that it's a lot better than The Age of Silence. For some reason I thought it was released this year.
