* The Metal Thread *

I'm going to comment anyway. Sounds more pop than I thought but this is good. Will be purchasing.

I can understand what you're saying. But to be honest I love Devin when hes heavy but I don't listen to him expecting it. I think his actual writing is awesome and it can make anything he does interesting.

That said, I think Epicloud sounds like it's a mix of all of the DTP albums which sounds great to me..

(I still can't get into Deconstruction, it just tires me out).

I'm a Devin fan, but the only DTP I really like is Ki.

He'll never top Terria but this sounds great anyway.

I wonder if he could give us another Terria.

Good few bands, so many bands to go through on this thread, I have a feeling I'm going to be broke soon...

Just reading through this thread, there are some fantastic bands I've never heard of! I pretty much like all kinds of music for the most part, but metal is by far my favourite.

A few of my favourite bands are, in no particular order:

Sonic Syndicate
Dimmu Borgir
In Flames
Iron Maiden
Killswitch Engage
Soilwork
The Unguided

I also like power metal, like Sonata Arctica, Masterplan, etc.

I'm not a huge fan of bands like Meshuggah, I like clean vocals in at least some of the songs, not just harsher ones, even though instrumentally they're excellent.

Favourite British band would be Anaal Nathrakh.

Beecher, Devil Sold His Soul, Sikth and Napalm Death would complete my favourite 5 British bands.

Do you realise how many times I saw these in the 70s?
How old are you? - 54?

No mate, 45, but due to a carefully considered diet and health regimen I only look 44!:p

Saw Motorhead many a time back in the 80's, 90's, 2000's myself too. Good ain't they? If you're talking more about, best recent English Metal bands I'd have to think much harder, still tend to listen to mainly American & European Metal tbh. Orange Goblin & Savage Messiah are good, can't get into Evile at all, just sounds like Metallica Karaoke to me.
