If you can post the rest of the log file the information I need is on there.

It would be interesting to see it as your score is very competitive with a GTX 970.:)

Ok cool, which part of the log file, it's really long!!

Will this do it?

Thanks and on the Scoreboard.:)

While I conceptually agree in the real world where games cost a lot to make I'd rather the dev budget was focused on systems people actually have rather than a super tiny part of the potential user-base. It's not like there are no bugs to fix, no performance optimisations left to do, no storyline improvements that could be made etc etc.

I suppose. Though I feel it should be relatively easy to start with very high quality textures for example, and then easily create downgraded versions of those without impacting development costs too much. I don't know enough about other areas to comment but the main point I was making, is the one Dygaza said below (maybe more clearly), which is that the first reaction on seeing you need high end hardware to play on Ultra should not be "this game is badly written". It could easily be an indicator that the developers have put in more effort to fully support the range of hardware people use. If they get damned for doing so, there's little incentive for them to keep doing it.

How many times have I seen people complaining that their high-end hardware isn't actually needed? Really, I find FPS a poor indicator of quality for a game's graphical performance. It's just used because it's a simple number to grasp. But many people play happily on 30FPS. Above 60FPS, I accept that it makes a difference, but not that it makes an important difference.

Give me shadows and lighting and sub-surface scattering and textures so big I could roll around on them. I've never watched a HD movie and felt it suffered because it was playing at <60fps.

People in general has very wrong idea about settings. Think about this benchmark for example. Ultra now consists of 16/16M samples. When Ultra on previous patch was 16M/32M samples.(You can still use higher settings than game options allow you to).

Why I mention this? Simply because people assume that when they move from game to another and suddenly they have to drop settings from ultra to high, they don't realise that the high they are now forced to use, could actually be better setting than ultra in previous game was.

There is no shame in lowering detail levels.

I am personally playing with superb settings :P

ShadingSamples=32
TerrainShadingSamples=32
4xMSAA

Next level would be Kaapsgod setting, where you increase msaa to 8X :) (dunno if the game supports higher than that)

Seriously, I feel it's quite hard for developers to decide with default settings, as they know that if they give too high ultra settings, people will call it's badly optimised. Yet, you kinda wish after few years after that you're game would have that extra level of settings to be used when your new card is too powerfull for it. Maybe fully dynamic detail level would be nice.

This puts it very well

[/b]

the way movies are shot and processed, they include a massive dose of motion blur, you don't notice a problem with movies running at 24fps because of the massive amounts of processing that go in to hiding that fact

Bloody GameWorks again, always used to make Nvidia look better than AMD...

Oh no wait, this is a game by a developer that favours AMD and AMD are generally winning, must be unbiased then!
:D

But seriously, I take it these are DX12 benchmarks? How is DX12 comparing to DX11 now? In the early days didn't DX11 still perform better in this game? Have they improved the DX12 performance now?

dev bias ends when they starts coding for DX12. If nvidia cut corners on dx12 feature sets its their problem. It is good that some of devs resist gameworks scam and actually try to innovate, especially with DX12 pioneering. When one realises what he/she is actually benching, it is quite amazing it can be run.
Imagine the same amount of draw calls in Starcraft or Total War series? It gets messy very quick

I wonder if this bench was using ROVs and Conservative Rasterization if it would be classed as innovation or the tin foil hats would be worn and NVidia had paid off the devs to use those techs? It does come across at times that what NVidia do, it is wrong and AMD can never do wrong.

Greg, you have 80% of the market thinking whatever AMD is doing it is doing it wrong, so stop moaning. nVidia was welcome to suggest those features to be used by Ashes devs, yet they chose to try to force devs to remove async shaders. There is always a pattern on how nvidia does business and on how AMD does it.
