read back I've already explained my thoughts twice, I cba repeating it a third time.
I did, its a load of absolute nonsense.

this ^ just like they did with Cadbury, ARM, Corus Steel, BA, etc etcYeah, it's very similar. All this "greed" talk is true, but that boat well and truly sailed 30 years ago.
And the govt is getting involved (it isn't) like it did then, by saying "oooh this is bad" it's only populist. Next minute it it'll be "oh there's not a lot we can do" and after that it'll be "isn't it fantastic?!".
No, that was the courts on the basis of competition lawthis ^ just like they did with Cadbury, ARM, Corus Steel, BA, etc etc
goodo then why ask? No point wasting my time explaining perfectly clear posts to someone incapable of understanding them then is there?I did, its a load of absolute nonsense.
I’m really taking about majority ownership. And a genuine fan is one that is a fan from a young age and would gladly give up vast amounts of money to see his club win trophies.
No, Cadbury for example. Government sought assurances jobs would stay in uk. What happens? Significant shift of production to Poland and huge reduction in UK staff numbers. Government does what in return? NothingNo, that was the courts on the basis of competition law

The success of the ESL is in the fans hands. If no one watches or subscribes then it’ll die. And somehow if it comes out that Sky or BT have signed agreements their presenters will be under strict instructions to big it up.So I'm assuming TV / streaming deals have already been shaken on behind closed doors? I doubt these clubs have just misjudged the fan's feelings in this. They wouldn't have pulled the trigger - knowing they would be sanctioned - without having financial guarantees in place.
This would be hugely entertaining if the very existence of other clubs wasn't on the line
Why not? Do enlighten me why they cannot pass laws that govern companies based in the uk?You used bloody Uber as an example LMAO
Ill ask again...why would the government have any say here? Its nothing to do with them. They have no say here.

This^ It's all about China and the like. Ditto Africa (to a lesser extent in terms of revenue) but out there everyone is a big <pick ESL club> fan. You're not going to find a forest fan, or a leeds fan, etc, well not without some real weird 1in a million luck. I had to beg to get a Leicester CL game shown in a bar in Rwanda, and that was the CL quarter final. If it wasn't Arsenal, Utd or Barca people in that town weren't too fussed. It won't be fans in this country that will make it a success, and the club owners are banking on that. It's the global market they are selling this to.
Every disrespect intended, the fans in Chine, India, USA etc do not understand this game and these clubs the same way the local fans do.
I get that everyone is all upset and everything - but amidst all the outrage people need to take a breath. Kicking 3 of the 4 remaining teams out of the Champions League - really ??! talk about cutting you nose off to spite your face. Also - would the FA really stop players from those 6 clubs playing for England - that doesnt even leave us with a "B" team, let alone a credible national side to take on the likes of a full strength Germany or France.
Far better to let the "Super league" play itself to a standstill and also watch those clubs suffer in their respective leagues because the players are too knackered to play.

they could but they're too cowardly and this rich lot won't do anything that harms their offshore strategies. It doesn't mean they can't. They choose not to that is completely different. And if the leeches think it will get them some votes they'll appear to try to before back-pedalling and hand-wringing like they do. It doesn't mean they couldn't if they actually wanted to.You used Amazon as an example. They really are punishing Bezos and his mates arent they. The biggest company in the world paying 62mil in tax in 20 (TWENTY) years.
Im asking you why you think they can just single out football clubs. They cant. They have no say in what happens to this league...its that simple. Boris and his mates can say what they like to secure a local election but they have nothing. Absolutely zero say in this.

The government can pass laws that companies have to obey. It's really quite simple. Pass laws that affect the companies they want to target, and structure them in such a way they affect most the companies most needing it. I struggle to see how you're struggling with this.Again how could they? They are private companies. You can't just decide to pick the football teams out and give them certain laws to obide by lmao. Absolute nonsense...the government can't do a damn thing about this.
One interesting twist is potentially how much the current gov are in bed with the murdoch empire (allegedly - google it). If he thinks Sky will get some media rights for a price he's happy with I bet the gov objection will quietly disappear. If on the other side it's Bezos/Amazon etc getting the media rights it is possible the gov might really do try to do something. Now that could be an interesting spectacle, a Murdoch company moaning about the cost of media rights!
