The New European Super (borefest) League

You say that but mysticsniper seemingly didn't, believing that Leicester could keep their players and judging by his 2nd post that players would want to stay. I was genuinely interested by his and others responses because it seems like a lot of people making these statements don't realise what they're saying.

The first thing that will happen is legal action, BT/sky would say contract void then EPL would sue the 6 clubs for lost earnings.

After that I expect contracts with players would be renegotiated, players that dont accept it would be put on transfer market, I expect some would at least see out rest of contract on lower salary, so I think some players would be kept, but some would be lost.

The league would have much less high profile players, but ultimately what counts is the sport, the competitiveness of the league, the championship e.g. is one of the best leagues to follow/watch as its so competitive. Also to me keeping cup competitions intact is important as well.

As to what the players want we dont know, as has been pointed out to you, these decisions by the the clubs that made this agreement have likely been by the club owners, not the managers or the players.

The Glazers are all complete **** wits who have no interest in football, they only care about money. They know this is never going to happen, but will use it as a bargaining chip to get more money from UEFA, cynical but transparent ploy from some dumb Americans

Leicester have been a mediocre championship level club for the majority of my life, it won't be such a big shock!

I think your darts analogy is misplaced - darts players who stayed in the BDO did not have a community around them or thousands of fans that would follow them come what may. Of course if this were to happen it would not be a good thing for the other 14, but the leagues would continue, and adapt. The 15 'super' clubs could not hoover up every single good player, there wouldn't be enough room. Even now, clubs like Leicester, Everton, etc. don't shop in the same markets as these other clubs, I'm not sure it would have such a big impact on player movement as some here are trying to make out.

To be clear, I'm sure we'd lose players, and drop in revenue would force players to make some tough choices - but the world will not end.
Oh I agree, there'd still be lots of good players to go around however as I said in my earlier post to mysticsniper, the best players from these clubs would be cherry picked by the biggest clubs. The wage gap between the biggest and clubs like Leicester is already massive but them leaving the PL would make it 5x bigger. It's not going to happen anyway, I was just curious to see whether supporters of these clubs would accept it if it came to it.

PL clubs can give x months notice and leave the league. The PL couldn't sue them for lost earnings if they left and I fail to see how they could if they were kicked out, which obviously wouldn't happen.
The Super League claim that they will still be able to compete in their domestic competitions.
That's the plan and if this really does end up happening I'm sure they would stay in their domestic Leagues too. The alternative would cripple the Leagues.

If this goes ahead, what happens if all the England players at these clubs issue a joint statement where they refuse to join this league as it means they'll no longer be able to play for their country?

what happens is all those players will have to put in a transfer request and go to burnley for reduced salaries.................. Those players wouldn't give 2 ***** about playing for england if they can get paid close to a million a week playing in a the ESL.

Why would any PL team agree to allowing them to continue in the league when these teams are going to get £300m just for being members.

Don't know why anyone thought differently. It's a rival competition to UEFA's Champions League and Europa League, which clubs have been unhappy about for some time. It was never to replace domestic leagues. People will state these clubs will receive more money, attract the best players, the little clubs left behind and etc., but honestly how is that any different to now..? Almost every day we see articles like, "Kane to leave Spurs for Champions League/trophies?!" and all this changes is "Kane to leave Spurs for ESL?!" (perhaps poor example given Spurs are a "founding club", but you get the gist).

The biggest issue with all of this is that by guaranteeing their status in the ESL, these top 6 clubs are ensuring they will remain the top 6 in the EPL, it pulls the ladder away from every other team.
