The New European Super (borefest) League

The small teams said no to something that was completely screwing them over. Don't paint it as them not willing to pay a penny to help the EFL.
Excuse me? Did you read my post? As per my edit to my last post, I'm guessing you've confused project restart with project big picture. Feel free to apologise.

This does seem like a total joke; just pure greed which is destroying the sport.
I do wonder though if this is some kind of last minute negotiating tactic with the final commercial aspects of the "new" Champions League format due to be thrashed out tomorrow....
If it is, the clubs that have just quit the ECA will be begging UEFA to let them back in because as it stands, none of them can compete in UEFA competitions anymore.

Even the format of the competition sounds utterly rank and Americanised.

Totally sick as a Utd fan that the club can go along with this. Liverpool, Utd, Barca and Real have just **** all over their European cup competition history.

Indeed, I'm sure the timing of the announcement the day before is not a coincidence

As an F1 fan this kinda stinks of the same thing the Car Manufacturers tried to do back in 2009 when they all said they would leave and setup another Championship... guess what its 2021 and they're all still there (well except Toyota who quit)...
I know money talks and £3billion each is a lot of cash but I don't see how these clubs can do this totally against the wishes of their fans too; feels like they're just wanting more money off UEFA.

They are both linked. Project Big Picture came from Project Restart only months apart. Project Restart was hardly about financial aid anyway.

Again, I'd like you to show me where PL clubs refused to give a penny away where it was done fairly. You've made an accusation which is completely false from what I can see.

I suspect none of these clubs care about their local fan base, it's all about the international revenue for them and the owners. The sentiment of fans in the UK is clear to see, hopefully international fans feel just as strongly.

No, they're absolutely not. I specifically commented on the smallest clubs trying to block relegation and promotion as part of project restart. That has nothing to do with project big picture. You misread my post, that's fine but don't start digging now.

As for PL sides refusing to give money, we've seen it play out over the past 10 months regarding the bailout for the EFL. The offer made from the PL to the EFL excluded Championship clubs, Steve Parish (Palace chairman) wrote a newspaper column justifying why PL sides shouldn't have to bailout EFL sides and the eventual rescue package for the Championship was a loan that the PL guaranteed but the EFL will repay, despite the EFL asking for cash.

I commented on this previously and is the big concern. Your average supporter in Hong Kong isn't going to have the strength of feeling to the current football pyramid.

UEFAs response will be extremely interesting, do they change the Champions League more to head off this ridiculous proposed new league, or play hardball back and put pressure on the FA to dock points etc as well as potential international bans

Let's be clear here, as bad as this is, FIFA and UEFA are supposedly two of the most corrupt organisations on the planet in recent years. They deserve no slice of any pie.

Also, this may have been done with a view of what was due to be announced tomorrow, presumably more games in Europe.

Stories going around that the Champions League and Europa League have been "temporarily suspended" but not sure where its coming from, suspect its Twitter tosh

Not being a member of ECA technically means as a football club you don't recognise UEFA as the governing body for European football therefore they should face immediate expulsion from UEFA competitions.
