The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

GOT IT!

Hopefully be my last for a while and this will keep me going!

Putting this thing on the camera body is a lot like how Nasa space shutters align up and dock with the International Space station!

So these are like pocketwizards? planning to get a 600ex flash and either a pair of pocketwizards so i can manullay trigger the 600ex and my old 430ex2

Indeed!

My Calumet order is still in "to be shipped" state. Normally I'd mind after a week of waiting but this product is of very high levels of fit and finish and will be worth the wait considering its spec and price compared to the competition that aren't as high yet cost twice as much.

Yongnuo 568 does.

I saved some cash and went for the 565s as i didn't need HSS.

Only thing they don't have is the commander but the Yongnup ST-E2 solves that. They also have optical and recharge beep which the 580EXIIs don't. Do the 600s have optical slave yet?

Cool So for just over £200+ i could get another flash plus 4 radio triggers!

Very nice^^

A few new items, £95 worth, not too bad I don't think and the triggers work a treat and with the flash, having a wireless receiver built in I can use a trigger as a shutter release, very handy setup for the price, I am very pleased.

Does the flash do hss and ettl?

No, it's full manual, it does have slave 1+2, and Multi/strobe mode, and a built in RF receiver which is rather cool feature, Yongnuo do a hss and ettl one, it's model Yongnuo 568EX, that maybe my next flash, but it's pretty easy in manual anyway:)

The YN-560 is a fully manual flash, I have a pair of the original ones. Basically a Canon 580 EXII with Yongnuo internals (so no ETTL etc.) and interface but in terms of power, design etc. it's all the same.

The YN-565 (last time I checked) is an ETTL flashgun much closer to the 580 in terms of functionality. In build they're identical, and short of a few misfires (more likely the tranceivers than the flash units themselves) I've had no reason to see any extra value in the Canon gear.

Edit: Beaten to it
