The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

I been doing a bit of birding with my non OS worthing sigma

It isn't quite enough I feel in a lot of situations just like you said DP

I can't crop in far from what I taken today without pixellation
But I was only having a play

Well probably have to get a long prime at some point

Get a tele converter, the sigma 1.4xTC will give you more reach

Old one gone, new one has arrived:

That's an expensive 'non pocketable' compact right there Cosimo.

I had a play with one the other day and honestly couldn't see the value in purchasing one over a 4/3's camera based on its size and cost... then I saw the price of the additional viewfinder for it....

Hope you enjoy it anyhow, be great to see some images from it.

Had a week in south of Cornwall not long ago and it made one decision very clear ......... i needed a better strap, walking around with my 5D mkii around my neck with just the standard strap dam near killed me the pain i had in my neck when walking round the coast on some days with 10/15 mile hikes was to much. Had a day with my mates old BlackRapid RS-7 and it was a joy to use so picked one up......... love it

Nope.. I am worse than a kid at Christmas when I buy stuff.. damn bank holidays :P

I'll be looking out the window for the postman all day when it's due too :D

I've been thinking of picking up an X100 again, although second hand prices seem to have gone up a tad. I'm interested in the 50mm adapter so I'm waiting to see how well it does.

Beepcake, your Stephen aren't you?did you just buy that on TP?:)its the same pic and Rojin must have known too :)I miss my x100 too.just lovely to hold and look at:)

Finally come to the conclusion those peak designs straps are actually a bit crap? :p I doubt you will ever go back now you have a proper strap :)

I had only the standard Nikon one for ages and then after watching some of Matt Grangers videos I liked the look of a Black Rapid and now can't imagine using anything else. The feeling of having it hanging at your hip when walking around is a bit disconcerting at first but you get used to it.

It's just so easy to grab a hold in the moment and get the shot!
