The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Tell us more, whats the make/model and so on.

Looks ace MRK, but I don't think I could give up vertical pixels from my 30" 16:10. I'm guessing thats 2560x1080? Or 3440x1440?

It's the LG 34UM95-P

I had the 27" Dell U2713HM (2560x1440) and U2412M (1920x1200) in dual screen setup and this new screen offers me more flexibility really while maintaining 3440x1440 at 34".

Can have Photoshop and Lightroom open in one view and see plenty of image to work with :)

:)

WOW, what a screen.

Can I ask what GFX card you are using to run that screen?

Card is a single GTX 780. Currently all my games seem to run fine, no real difference to the 27" even though there's 30% odd increase in pixel width. It's the new games coming out that will be the real tell.

At the moment, TF2, Grid 2, Wolfenstein from next week and a couple other indy titles.

Dont need no 780 for that LOL ;)

man to be fair i aint played nout either. bored of gaming at present. All about picking up my camera and taking pics or partying.

Thats me mate,

Let me know when u do the night time street in london and do tell me in advance this time!

No you don't need a 780 for those games. The games I have played and completed over the last year though, some of those do benefit from a beefier GFX card at 1440P. Nobody plays the same games all the time once they're completed :p

I don't need my 780ti either but I'm still glad I have it :D

Bit bored of TF2 recently but looking forward to Wolfenstein and Watch Doges.

Looking for a new UV/protector filter, I've always used a mid range Hoya, but I've been recommended a B+W, are they any good and if so what's a good one to go for, I have no idea about any of their range.

F-Pro or MRC nano coated.

The MRC ones costs more but it has a thinner mount, if it's for anything wider than 50mm I'd go for that. If its longer then I get the F-Pro.

Few things.

Lent out a lens. Came back with no caps at either end and no lens hood. Awesome. So i've had to order more. No point waiting to post pics we all know what they look like.

Never lending out kit again.

But in GOOD news... Got a lot more work in Cam Trainee. Recently worked on this: https://vimeo.com/94980738

And got a few more coming in now so it's time to invest in Cam Assist kit!

Ditty Bag! Containing an awful lot of stuff. I can list it if interested but the main attraction is the new Leica Laser Distance Measurer. Mmmmmm.

As some of you may have noticed in the CSC thread, I got GX7 this week. I am getting a Panasonic 20mm 1.7 II by redemption once Panasonic process my request. This is first photo-related purchase for a few years (upgrading from a Panasonic FZ150 bridge camera) - and the upgrade in the IQ is simply amazing. And I love the look.

Cheers, I've found an MRC for a decent price but not sure on the difference between 010M and 007M?

New Giottos Vitruvian 9255 tripod to replace the bigger Giottos carbon fibre that I'm selling. It's 1cm short of being half the size of the other one and it fits perfectly onto the side of my Think Tank Sling-O-Matic 10 bag.

Old one is in the MM by the way ;)

First impressions? Also what head did you go with? I've been thinking of picking up one of those for travelling.
