The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

My delivery of Eneloops should arrive tomorrow lol :) Got some AAs for the flash and controller and thought I'd get some AAAs for my Sennheiser headphones since these newish ones I have eat batteries quicker than the old set :|

Also have some waterproof trousers coming lol :D Already have some which are camouflaged goretex but I've ordered some better black ones to use when there's people around so I don't feel some survivalist/terrorist! lol

Look at them! lol

The AAs arrived today even though I ordered yesterday but the AAAs get here tomorrow ;/ both prime delivery

Go figure!

Enjoying taking photos, felt I was outgrowing my 550d and it was time to move forward.

After much thought about the 5d3 and the 7d2 I decided on the 6D, all the features I wanted and feel I need.

Now to sell the stuff I don't need and buy a bit more glass :D

Gratz :) I keep wondering about getting my hands on some kind of FF camera...

6d always looks appealing because of the good IQ and low price but then I think I'd get annoyed with the AF, especially after now having gotten used to my 7d2.

Then I think well the 5d3 would be nice but then it's quite expensive to have a body I won't use much...

Then I think maybe I should just get a 1Dx and then I remember I still have lots to pay off on the stuff I currently have so I go think about something else lol :D

By 'sell the stuff you don't need' do you mean the family or your organs?

I went through exactly the same line of thought, people seem to say that the 6d isn't too shoddy with AF and to be honest I don't really shoot fast moving stuff, most of my subjects are people and landscapes but I do love an airshow and do plan on doing the mach loop this year so will just do the best I can. Just couldn't justify the extra money for the 5d3. The low light capabilities of the 6d will be really handy and I love the wi-fi transfer already.

The stuff I don't need would be the 550d and the lenses that don't fit my new one, I don't intend to run two bodies, can't see the family selling for much, going by previous experiance it tends to cost a great deal to get rid of a wrongun...

I couldn't understand why anyone would feel the ned to pay for a D4s until i played with one last week at CES. Wow, just like a machine gun and the buffer never filled!

A Fotodiox Pro m645 - Nikon lens mount so that I can use my mamiya lenses instead of having to buy another prime. I can't use or adapt my contax zeiss 85mm f1.4 and rather than shell out around £6-700 for a nikkor or the zeiss ZF it's a heck of a lot cheaper to adapt the 80mm f1.9 mamiya lens instead. (plus i get the added benefit of a giant image circle meaning sharper corners)

YN600EX-RT arrived the other day, to add to my two Canon 600EX-RTs.

Fairly impressed with the quality - it's nowhere near the Canon but at the same time it's pretty solid and not the cheap and nasty rubbish you'd expect given the price. Can see myself picking up a second one of these so I have two Canons and two Yongnuos - should make a decent setup I think, if I can just work out how to use them all effectively that is (ta for the tips again Ray!)

Excited.. should be getting one of these:

ATIK 414ex .. 30% more sensitive than previous sony sensors.

Looking forward to putting it on the pentax..

Oh.. is this a big enough willy wave since the last entry.. a garden pier :)

Only 3/4 ton of concrete & aggregate.. steady as a rock :D

Some new firmwares are out for those who have the YN600EX-RT and YN-E3-RT.

YN-E3-RT
Version 1.13:
Fixed: improved performance.

YN600EX-RT
No changelog supplied but version is 1.8 whereas my speedlites came shipped with version 1.2.3 which is a December 2014 release so 1.8 must be rather new...

DK-17M, DK-19 and an AN-6W strap. Should have a Nikon D810 arriving tomorrow too. (an eventual upgrade to my 9 year old EOS 20D)

Edit...
it has arrived:
