The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Added a 3rd Godox AD200 to my kit / studio, as well as a new X3 trigger (cool little gadget!), also 2 more Godox S2 bowens mount adapters, another strip box and some acrylic bases for product photography

I have been tempted with a A200 for some time now !
Nice set up BTW

Very helpful, thank you. I have a light seal kit on the way. I began to clean it and soon discovered the light seals had mostly turned into a slimy mess.

Currently eyeing up a couple of Minolta X500/700 locally for pocket change……

One of my saved sellers has the x700 for 115 but also one body only with a non working meter for 35quid! I did however just buy a canon FD 28mm f2 8 tonight for 50quid  heading up to Aberdeen tomorrow to shoot a roll or two.

Bought a bag for travel and hiking to safely pack my gear in. Slightly too small, another cm in each dimension + another pocket and it would be perfect.

Try the Lowepro Gearup Creator bags, I have the large to bounce between different bags easier and that takes an A7IV with 35mm plus a Sony 20mm G, Sony 85 f1.8, spare battery, filter box and some smaller accessories.

Thankyou for the recommendation. Looking at the specs the large size is slightly smaller than the bag I bought and the xl size is a similar size the the previous bag that i returned as it was too large to fit in my osprey bag along with my other gear. Which nicely sums up the issues I've been having finding the perfect bag.

 exactly the situation I was in, the large creator fits nicely alongside a flask/water bottle/GoPro bag in all but the biggest of my Osprey bags, but it took me ages to get to this point but thank god for Amazon free returns

Thinking about getting a Ricoh GR III.. I owned a 5DII (which is still in the house but now my brother's) and mostly used a 40mm pancake. Switched to an X100T as I was only really using it for holidays/family occasions, but even though it's fairly small, I still found myself not taking it sometimes as it was one extra thing to carry. Thought that just using a phone (upgraded slightly to a mid range phone) would be good enough for family occasions, but it really isn't.
So now thinking if I get something truly pocketable, I will take it with me everywhere. My Google fu abilities say that this is the only pocketable APS-C sized sensor right? Even being released 6 years ago in 2018, no one has made something similar? Or is there something on the horizon? I'm going on holiday end of next month, so ideally want to get something by then.

You could look at a Fuji XE or XM with the 28mm f/2.8 pancake, but otherwise the Ricoh looks to be one of very few truly pocketable cameras. I haven’t used one so can’t comment on it’s performance or usability.

The Fuji X30 is another pocketable camera but it has a smaller sensor. I bought the X10 (1st gen of the model) in 2011 and it’s still going strong today.

Walking past a local charity shop and saw these two in the window. I’ve been after a Minolta X300/500 so I couldn’t pass. The Olympus also looked semi decent (except for the damaged lens) so I’ll run a roll through it and see how I get on. I’ve decided I can only keep one, but having ran a roll through the Minolta, it’s going to take some beating. The OM40 doesn’t sell at a high price so it may be tricky to flip, but I’ll clean it up and give it a service and hopefully turn a small profit.

I'll let you know, I managed to win one for a decent price off the bay as the auction end time was 9:30am :D
Should arrive this weekend/early next week hopefully.

That lens on the Olympus has taken a fair hit! Has it affected the connection with the camera itself or is it just on the lens?
It looks like someone tried to get into it by prising the plastic ring out rather than unscrewing it. Otherwise the lens is fine, but the aperture ring is a bit janky. A replacement lens comes in at around £20 (fantastic value for a pretty decent 50mm f/1.8!) so no drama there.

Bought the Samyang 35-150mm for A7iv but the lens creep and consistent AF missing is just irritating. Shame too, the range is great!

Will return and aim for 24-70 GM I think.
