From playing with it for 24 hours...

Pros
- Startup and shutdown are F-A-S-T. I've never seen a computer boot or turn off so quickly.
- The dock is a really clever and handy way of doing things. You have your most used applications there and use Spotlight for the rest.
- Battery life is awesome. My girlfriend's Vista laptop is slower than this but manages about half the time on a full charge.
- Build quality is top notch. Screen looks fantastic (if a little glossy) and the trackpad isn't as hard to use as I thought it might be. Keyboard is lovely to type on.

Cons
- It does take getting used to, but that was expected.
- Screen resolution is a little small.
- Certain programs that i'm used to using either don't have OS X versions, or are hard to get hold of.
- The Mighty Mouse that uses the built-in Bluetooth is FIFTY QUID. I mean come on Apple, are you kidding me?!?
 
Is anyone else noticing a sort of clicking/ball bearing sound coming from where I assume is the HDD ?

I was sat last night reading the forums, so it was obviously fairly quiet. It's almost like the HDD is trying to sleep then waking up again. Happens about once every 30 secs.

Starting to worry me a bit now :(

If you have not bought it yet Don't.
I got one and it is total crap, really bad response and delay. It is just horrid to use.
The Blutooth Keyboard on the otherhand is great.

I would really like to give one a try, just not for that amount of money when I might not even like it.

Grrr, I ordered my standard spec 2.4 MBP on the day of the keynote and mine is still at the same status of 'not shipped yet' with an estimated delivery date of 4th/5th November. You would think they would at least have the decency to clear the backlog in order! :p

That's fine - I just find people like Steve Jobs a bit of a hypocrite when he bashes Vista yet gives his customers the option to install it on his hardware.

Also, how do I remap the side button on the mouse?

How did you get that info? i dont even have a tracking number?
 
Mine hasn't got that far yet :(

That said, I wonder how much it's costing them to ship individually from China vai UPS vs. shipping en bulk to the UK warehouse...

That said, if it means it gets to me quicker, I don't care :D
