The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Excuse my ignorance.all this is new to me and a bit beyond me. No Brains i'm afraid.
Where do you put the .apk files and how do you install "Launcher pro" and others.
I got a 2gb card at moment that came with phone.

Any guides on how to get A2SD working on this? Easiest way to partition the sd card in Windows?

Download GPartEd, burn to CD.

Create two partitions on the SD card:

1) FAT32, this is the bulk of the card. 7.5gb / 15.5gb etc.. This goes at the start of the card.
2) ext2, 512mb this goes at the end of the card.

I did the above (using Fedora on a LiveBoot USB key), miniSD in SD adapter in a USB adapter.

I don't think there's any easy way to create ext2 partitions in Windows though sadly matey.

Once you've got that, cook a ROM with A2SD support and you're laughing.

Orange physical branding problem taken care of. :)

Can't wait! :D

I didn't plan to buy a new phone until I've repaired and sold my old Nokia 6300 but I'm too impatient for that.
I've got loads of reading to do now because I know nothing/very little about this Android thingy. :o

Cool, got it working! Just a question, what about apps that I have already installed beforehand, will they need to be moved manually or is it all automatically done with a2sd?

I got mine yesterday too! Brilliant little things these, can't get over the cost though! ha little expensive for alittle green sticker.

Yeah pricey but not sure where else I could get them. Was thinking about making a little android template and then spray painting it on but not sure if it would stick to the back okay :p

Is there a step by step guide anywhere for newbies like me?

I'm still not exactly sure what to do when I hopefully get the phone tomorrow, and in what order I should be doing things.
