The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Mine was added that same day, £20 credit which was immediately rendered useless once the phone was unlocked.

I've read through this topic but i still have a few questions, a bit of a newbie on phones etc so i'll ask here :

1) what's it like to play music on? what's the media player like (for music mainly) is the headset provided good enough etc? can you install different media players etc?

2) this can be unlocked but ive seen like 2-3 websites here any specific reliable one that'll do it cheap? i have a virgin mobile contract that is due to expire in jan but i want to put that sim in the meantime then switch that sim to a sim only plan if that makes sense.

3) What's this about Android etc? What are the benefits to this?

4) will it be a good upgrade to my current nokia 5800 which ive had for 12 months+ and lost the pen device in that time ?

edit : oh and are there any screen protectors out for this? i presume there is no different "faces" or "skins" or whatever the term is used to change the colour of the phone.

Just ordered one of these. I used my wifes phone fund and it says that we will keep the same number. Does that mean they wont send a new sim ? As i,m wanting the phone for myself and would need a Payg sim for me...

Anyone else order theirs from Orange recently (directly, not from play etc) as you get a giftbox or something with a watch, rubix cube, phone pouch and free game and stuff. Ordered mine last night and wondering what anyone else rated the freebies as. Seems like a good deal as the phone is cheap as chips for what it is.

New San Francisco coming tomorrow, was rock climbing yesterday, phone in chalk bag in the phone pocket, was left on the floor the whole time and not banged about at all, but somehow cracked the screen.

Went into the store I bought it, convinced the guy, rang customer services in store, convinced two people on the phone, and got a new one sent out for tomorrow

After all the things people have said about Orange customer service I was worried, but can't fault it!
Didn't have the sim card I bought it with, the guy was having real trouble trying to authenticate me and things, but he put in a lot of effort and went out of his way to sort everything out.

Just got to back things up now without being able to see, can anyone tell me the menu options to get to back up to the sim card on clockwork recovery? (the one you get to by starting the phone holding volume down and is then upside down).
Would be a massive help!

Turn the phone on whilst holding the volume down key and wait at least 10 seconds. Release your finger.

Press volume UP 5 times then press the home button twice. This will then make a backup to the SD card.

Try to do it as slow as possible to ensure the phone doesn't accidentally register two presses of a key instead of one.

The stuff in the gift box is absolute crap, i would expect better from a ASDA smart price xmas crackers... the phone pouch is kind of ok I guess, if you like Orange branding over everything!

haha thought as much but meh was free s oits no loss. Was going to get the phone anyway, gifts will keep me amused for a while whilst its charging. Should get 15quid or so for the watch and a free game and stuff on the phone isnt too bad either.

Gah. Thought the screen freezing bug was fixed in the latest Froyo build (r3a), but I got it twice today.

Apart from that, it is (well now 'was' as I'm moving back to 2.1) the best rom I have had. Great performance, great battery life.
