The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Magic Lethal and Mike, thanks.

Also, is it at all possible to remove the little Orange logo on the back of the phone? It isn't a problem, just would be nice to get rid of it, but only if it comes off cleanly. Thanks.

I'm having to teach myself how to use Android so I can then teach my dad how to use it, I've only ever played about with a very rough copy on my Iphone, seems pretty good though. Are there any must have apps? (remember it's for a technophobe, the only reason he wanted a new phone was so he could use Shazam).

No problem. I think you would risk damaging the back cover if you tried to remove it, quite a few owners have stuck an android logo sticker over it. Good idea, and I might do it myself if I can find the stickers cheap enough. Perhaps when the community and ownership of ZTE blades increase we will see spare parts on eBay, then you could buy a ZTE blade back cover.

As for apps, I don't have much of a clue myself as I'm new to Android too :p

Ive just tried to flash the wifes and now her screen is all messed up its a TFT version, and the colours r all messed up the orange has turned to blue  any idea what to do now?

Lol shows how much people bother to read. If you're getting roms from modaco you may have noticed most state whether they work on tft or oled. A oled rom will give blue tint on tft phones.

How do you do your wall paper? I mean when you 'set' it? I find the selection method damn weird... you cant just go, oh look image 'set'...

It's simple. Just press Menu, tap "wallpaper", browse to and select a wallpaper. Then just place the bounding box and tap "set".

New rom out, based on 2.2. Also has the annoying lock screen taken out :-)

Had it on a hour, not to bad

I'm thinking of using that ROM (I'm on Pauls R4 just now) but the disclaimer worries me....

I hadn't tried any of the previous 2.2s, until this latest leak. The 1st one was pretty alpha but since Seb's got on the case thing's have moved on much quicker than I'd expected, been running his r0+r1 releases without any real probs and this morning I see there's an r2 version to try.

I think Seb's just trying to be extra cautious because there seems to be a lot of people who think although there might be a little tying up of loose ends but essentially this is the 'proper' 2.2 for the Blade we've all been waiting for. It might well turn out to be the case but we've only had the leak for barely 2 days, it's a case of 'so far so good'.

It's stable in that there's no crashes/freezes/weird stuff going on, no tethering/fm radio/lights on home/menu buttons, but I'm off now to download r2 and read the overnight discussions.
