The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

The battery has went flat in 40 hours with no use.....Is this normal?

Not for me..

3d 13h 45m since unplugged, and I still have 36% battery remaining.

In that time, I played about an hour of MP3s, sent about 20 texts and talked for about 20 mins.

I'm on Modaco's 2.1 R4 rom.

had mine running for over a week, last monday infact. ive got 22% battery left but im gonna charge it over night. not used it very much tbh as ive had man flu.

I bought my wife's SF on Dec 15th and it had around 64% of juice in it.
On Christmas Day I realised I hadn't charged it up but when she opened her present it had still got around 30%.

Got my girlfriends phone up and running with the Modaco R4 ROM +addons. Seems a nice upgrade from the Tmobile Pulse she was using :). What a phone for the price! The one and only thing missing that should be on it is the trackball/pad.

Picked up a white SF for the Mrs, anyway to link contacts to Facebook ala Sense? Would be good to sync at least the contact pictures. Cheers.

I flashed mine with jellyfish r2 last night after running pauls froyo a3 for a few weeks, and although Quadrant score is higher i haven't noticed much difference performance wise, although it does have the stock android lock screen which is awesome!

Would also be interested in an answer to this. I was hoping the Facebook App would have an option to save profile pic as contact picture.

I was running Sebs de-softened 2.2 ROM, till I noticed the Clock app seemed to be missing which is a pain when I need it to set alarms :-P. A side from that though it seemed great, back on 2.1 until the Clock app is back.

Is the Galaxy S really that bad?

Nope, it's just a typical example of how meaningless a Quadrant score is. Upgrading from Eclair to FroYo will double the score by increasing the CPU test score, the Galaxy S score there is using Eclair (hence no 2.2+ like the ones above it). You can double the score again just by repartitioning your SD card and using Data2SD. Basically never rely on a Quadrant score, they have little to do with how good the phone is. ;)
