The New Stargate Universe Thread

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I think its good that they're bringing the lucien alliance back into it :) and from the sounds of thing quite a few will end up on the Destiny in season 2 which should be pretty good to watch. Although it's an incredibly big ship, i'd be interested to see how it plays out whether its more like BSG with an uneasy truce being declared with whoever is left or more like the maquis/starfleet from star trek voyager and they end up working together, i'd bet on the former though.

Boooooo what, I felt compelled to read this despite spoiler warnings but how can they be anywhere near Destiny when they where in the Milky Way in SG1?

I really hope Stargate Yawniverse picks up a little, had high hopes for this, so far it's tedious, badly written and unbelievably predicatable :(

Do I need to re-watch the first part of the series or can I read up on this somewhere, it seems so long ago since I watched this!

Pretty much nothing happened for the first half of the season, they ran out of air, they ran out of water, there were some intense staring contests, a lot of bickering, soldier boy (I can't even remember names at this stage it's been so bloody long) got off with just about everything, fat brainy guy made some ultra witty remarks that only he could get while whining, a lot (though to be fair that character is probably the only one who seems to enjoy the idea of the adventure they're on), more nothing happened, some more bickering and finally some extra-bodily jigginess aided by Alteran communication stones, resulting in marital difficulties and more raised tensions.

There's probably something in there I missed but it obviously wasn't too important.

Aye thats pretty much how I remember it, and that Colonel guy beat up Rush which was probably the most action I've ever seen in one episode :D

Indeedy, can't wait :D.

don't click if you don't want spoilers.

They look pretty funky and its from the same people who did the Prawns in District 9 :).

All the actors/producers really seem to be plugging the fact that the second half will have a much larger payoff with action whereas the start was purposely a slow build up to introduce the characters.

Is it me, or does that alien look slightly like Alien from the movie, and the race from avatar rolled in to one? :p

i can see where you're coming from.

Im glad they've gone for a very alien look tbh. The same actors with a minor cosmetic change in appearence gets boring after a while (a little ridge ont he nose, a dent int he foreheard, new contact lenses etc).

Although it would be nice for them to experiment a bit sometime and try and do an physical intelligent alien that isn't two arms, two legs but i guess that would alienate allot of people (pun intended).

I've seen it, looking forward to see peoples reactions when it airs in the UK, I'm sure it'll be a good response.

if they did owning up to it may get this thread closed.

Owning up to seeing it and talking about it are two completly different things, no harm saying you have. As long as you keep schtum until it's aired on, err.. what is it, sky?
