Either way maybe it is the recession/budget cost thats why there focusing on charactors/story and less CGI/Action,
Ive just watched the 1st half of this new series and im a stargate fan, really did dig the new touches and new style... nice too see the Hammond earth ship and Captain Carter and Jack back but wheres Tealc
There isn't really any stand out reason for them to include Teal'c in the series really, even as a cameo its a bit out of place. O'Neill is in charge of Homeworld Security after Hammond died, Carters the commander of the Hammond and is the super scientist and Jackson is the expert on the ancients so they all have reasons to be in there. I could also see Mckay appearing sometime in the future.
One thing I do have too say is SGU reminds me so much of BSG ! Its like they copied it, made it dark/gritty u dont know who everyone is or if there evil even ! Even theres a fair bit of humping and grinding going on and its certainly not a peck on the cheek its realisticly done lol
Ive got to say ive really not got a BSG vibe from it, they share a few similarities but sgu is far from a carbon copy imo
Either way maybe it is the recession/budget cost thats why there focusing on charactors/story and less CGI/Action, but if I remember correctly Amanda tapping on an interview once said they sacrifice there pay a lot so they can afford fancy CGI and it really pays off when watching it.
The season will for the most part be planned out beforehand budget wise, as you say often the large chunk of the budget will go on CGI filled episodes (the next episode to air in april being an example) Its not really the recession more a fact of thats characters are one of the main themes to the show and they have to manage the limited budget across 20 odd episodes
Either way the shows back in April... Look forward to it!
When's this kick off again?
This 'mid season break' is pretty stupid though.
This mid-season break is actually longer than the break will be between the end of Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2.
Now that is strange.
An interesting casting for the second season - in the form of Robert Knepper as a recurring character ...
Should be interesting!
/slight spoiler alert for the link by the way!!
