The New Stargate Universe Thread

Is that stupid blurb going to be at the beginning of every episode? I know I have a bad memory but how difficult it is to remember that they are stranded on an ancient Alteran ship with no way home week in week out.

Probably, seems to be a thing they do on these shows now, such as :

Previously on Lost......

Previously on Battlestar Galactica.......

Its far too long a distance.

Hence why they couldnt jump from atlantis to earth in atlantis they had to make a chain of gates.

But they got there in the first place... is there some reason why the Destiny won't be able to supply the same amount of power as a small planet? ;)

Quite enjoyed that episode, but am leaning towards teh stance of drunkenmaster.

It could be a really good series even with Batlestar being around and loved, but just doesn't have real direction at the moment.

The show is a shambolic mess. They're really testing our patience. The characters suck, yes all of them. The storylines are so dull that I had to force myself through the last episode - I'm only hanging on because I'm a big SG1 fan and want to see it develop.

Scott's already banged two chicks in like 4 episodes, and somehow we seemed to have missed out about 10 episodes where Chloe and he actually formed an apparent relationship if it was that.

I was actually thinking I'd missed an entire episode where their relationship started!

Hope they leave the ship soon, its getting boring now.

This won't be happening simply because the entire show is based around the Destiny. Or do you mean perhaps off-world (well in this case off-ship) travel? If so then the next episode is based in the Hoth system I believe (based on the advert)

Well to me they just don't seem that bothered where the ship takes them, they don't appear to be making any effort to take control. At the moment it just seems like there's a problem each week and in the end they sort it out.

Be good if at some point all the people on the ship go to another world, instead of just walking around doing nothing.

That's not much of a spoiler to be fair, you can see all of if not most of the episode names listed on Gateworld openly enough - some of them don't give much away but others are a bit obvious!

The fact they've not left the Destiny yet doesn't actually bother me as much as I thought it might - they need to explore it somewhat and make sure it can adjust to their being present all of a sudden before going off on adventures only to find everyone's dead when they return :p

They've gone all out in terms of making up situations and seeing how the characters will respond - and there are a lot of differing responses! Some being a bit too rushed like Chloes choice but at that "end of the line" moment it's just what those two wanted I guess.

I'd quite like all the characters to die off and some new ones to come in, the current ones are absolute ****. Even Carlyle's isn't very interesting. The only character I'm close to liking is the doctor.

Thus far this has been very disappointing. The actors are great as are the sets, its the story that's crap, its too predictable and lacking any emotional content, why haven't we explored the ship yet?. Sack the writers, they are useless.

Something I've just remembered, at the end of episode 3 a small ship detached itself from destiny, what was that all about, I havn't seen anything mentioned about it?

That's because nothing has happened about it, we're left wondering. I think they're trying to copy Lost by being vague and mysterious but failing badly at it.
