The New Stargate Universe Thread

The 2nd half of last season was great. I felt it was better than the final season of SGAtlantis. However, this season has been pretty drab, so far.

I dunno. I quite liked the Ori story. I especially liked the final season (season 10). The final episode (unending, I think it was called), was one of the best episodes of any SG TV show, I've seen.

Can you guys please just double check before posting. Discussion of episodes that have not been aired in the UK is not allowed and if it continues then you may have to go on holiday..

Sorry I thought UK was only a couple of days behind the US with this, seems not.

Right then, let me see, while staying spoiler free (though I would like to point out that I wasn't the only one to comment on the fate of Ginn, I just agreed to it).

Blue Aliens.. Why are we making a big deal about them still? The last time that we saw them, was in season one, before Destiny passed between two galaxies, that took three weeks with an 'efficient' FTL drive, something which it was stated more than a few times, was something that the annoying blue guys, had no knowledge of, or equivalent thereof. Infact the only reason that the blue guys ever caught up with Destiny, is because it keeps stopping, however, 3 weeks at FTL, was too much for them to follow.

Chloe's injury... it stands to logic that something happened while she and eli were trapped in the forward section of the ship... or not.. seems I am wrong after all, reading an interview with Elyse Levesque, she talks at length about becoming a blue alien.. oh well..

Still don't think that the blue aliens can find them though.

I think that what ever metamorphosis she is currently undergoing, is as a result of what happened while she was held captive in the alien ship and not what happened while she and Eli were in a different section of the Destiny ship.

It's never been said the blues are slower or faster. They've been following the ship for a while so must be capable of keeping up with it. The reason they couldn't find them while they were stalled was the massive area of space (not the distance) between galaxies. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. When one took over James (Lt Boobs) and managed to send out a signal, they found the ship quickly enough

If they can follow them across an intergalactic void it seems reasonable to assume they're still around The ship still seems to think they could be a threat (youngs battle scenario) I doubt Chloes storyline would have been put in if they weren't going to reappear at some point

What we need is for her to have a Earth bound episode, where she is not wearing fatigues. ;)

She did have a very stereotypical role in that episode where mat and chloe get married in his "dream" ... Lt. Boobs played the waitress - was funny seeing everyone perving on her ;)

Also, speaking of Destiny's mission - it's nice to see them at least hint at an end point for the series by saying they have this mission that they are destined to help the ship complete ... it gives them a beginning / middle / end to work to which is better for the network as they can pitch the "plan" and hopefully get another season!

iirc mallozzi said that they roughly have a 5 season plan worked out for the show, with milestones in the story along the way, and it could also be condensed into 1 season if necessary.

I really want to like it but it's just not gripping in the slightest.

I think I'm 3 episodes behind now and there's nothing tempting me to sit down and watch them.
