The New Stargate Universe Thread

A shame that the wait wil be so long again, it really is a stupid thing to do.

Just waiting for the decision about whether its renewed or canned now, shouldn't be to long now. December/January they said syfy would announce thier decision.

I'm still hoping that the sole reason they moved Universe to Tuesday was that they felt it was a strong enough show to compete on that night instead of giving it a cushy Friday gig. This would mean that Syfy have great faith in the show and hopefully mean they would keep it on for another season.

Ok, You know in the opening credits it usually shows Choles BF Soldier man i cant remember his name is it "Scott?" anyway... Its him and someone else in what appears to be an interrogation scene of a "blue alien" who kinda makes a warrrrrrrrrrrgh rasping noisey noise at them shouting etc.
In what episode of season 1 was this from, cos i thought i saw them all but i don't remember this bit at all?!?!?

Sabotage

It's the episode where Lt. Boobs is taken over by a blue alien using the comm stones and Lesbian spends some time in Rush's quadriplegic girlfriend's body.

I seem to recall it being an exceedingly dull episode.

Cheers, yeah Any episode with the communication crystals and earth just made me fall asleep even if it had lesbo cripples in it... which would usually keep my attention at max in any other situation.

It's 1x11 Space

Its the Blue Alien in Youngs body when he switched bodies with it to get onboard their ship using the stones so he could go and rescue Chloe after she had been abducted and taken onto their ship.

I think they had the best interest of the show at heart, considering Tuesday is apparently a better night for viewing figures, although that being said its never going to get the audiences of stuff like Dancing with the Stars. But then i wouldn't expect allot of people who watch that would watch a sci fi show like sgu. There are shows like Warehouse 13, which did pretty well on Tuesdays, so the audience might just not be there for SGU :(.

SyFy knows it's a winning franchise, considering its been going since 1997 none stop, while it's three different shows, for allot of the production staff, and the franchise as a whole Season 2 of SGU is more like season 17 of Stargate. It's fair to ssay its one of their more well known and profitable eggs in the syfy basket, im optimistic that they wouldn't want to see it dissapear. It's not like say Caprica that came off of the successful but relatively short reimaginging of bsg, and got canned.

It's April....

No seriously, we have to wait four bloody months again. Just when the show was starting to get some momentum going as well though as cliffhangers go it wasn't a very good one, especially since Malolzi stated the show has a five year arc.

probably a 1 series arc strectched over 5 years ... cos the story moves slower than eastenders :D

It would be nice of them - if they did decide to wield the axe - to actually bring forward the last 10 episodes as if we know it's cancelled there's no point leaving it that long (even though by then I guess to SyFy it wouldn't matter when they showed it).

Bit harsh on that wait.

Watched the last episode last night, tbh it was bang on. Enjoyed the heck out of the 2nd series in general, even the standalone episode had a draw slightly touching the main storyline.

Whats made it for me has been the way they've knitted everthing i wasn't liking about the show, the character development, the way they were playing out the interactions between them, the stones... it was pretty weak stuff. No doubt though, the 2nd series, they're doing that a heck of a lot better... even Camile, who would have been the prime candidate for the first to get tossed out the airlock, with chloe next in line. Just like the way there working that, less standout soap dramatic scenes, and more proper drama between the characters.

It's got that cracking feel of finding 'more' that stargate and atlantis had about it now, making it a must watch it my book:)

It's a shame, but our we all really that surprised?

I was holding out hope for at least a mini-series instead of a straight out cancellation. Once again we will be left with an unresolved storyline as well :(

Thank you SciFi (or SyFy or whatever crappy name you're calling yourself now) you've just ruined Christmas

Yer, I know what you mean. I dunno why I bother to even watch anything that isn't a movie, best just to what until it gets cancelled or finishes, then find out how it ends and decide from there if you want to watch it all.

caprica, sgu, they better not pull the plug on warehouse 13, something else I like.

Hopefully the new Battlestar sries is good, as otherwise it is going to be pants not having any good SciFi stuff to watch :(

I hate when shows I like get cancelled, yet reality TV crap carries on going

They only have themselves to blame the first season was awful and abandoned many potential viewers. It just wasn't gripping in the slightest.
