The New Stargate Universe Thread

Yup gutted just feels like recession killing off anything lately, Capricas gone and now SGU just when both shows were finding there path.

I will admit though they had some off charactors in the show I didnt like colonel young found him a bit annoying tbh he just didnt sit in well maybe he needed a season or 2 to mature, and same with few other charactors really.

It definatly did copy BSG/Babylon5s gritty take on scifi though.....

I dont think were gonna see any future dvds or spin offs the stargate world, well not for a long time I reckon its been overdone just like the Star trek world.

Scifi is finished as we know it.
 
If another network does pick it up, SPACE in Canada would be the likely candidate. it is wild speculation by fans though, just wishful thinking at the moment. Theres even people spouting that Starz or the BBC might pick it up, lol.

It would be great if SPACE did pick it up though :).
 
This would be one show I would like to see taken up by someone else - if they could commit to giving it the remaining 3 seasons the writers said they had planned that would be the excellent!

/slim chance it'll actually happen but here's hoping ...

Thing is though finding your path after 2 seasons when you've drove away all your viewers and gotten the worst ratings the franchise has ever gotten is too late.

On the other hand, its the only Stargate show I have found that isnt utter crap.

A little slow moving on the odd occasion, but easily better than anything else from the franchise.
 
The show is getting better but yeah if it does get picked up they need some serious changes to charactors/directions...

heck theres so many from Atlantis/SG world that could cross over more so...

But alas I dont think anyone out there in todays recession would buy a tv series thats already lacking viewers.....
 
sad news that is being axed although not surprised...the poor beginnings of season1 and a dreadful pilot episode (seriously whoever said yes to that needs to be shot) left it dead from day one.
im liking the direction of season 2, but they clearly made some mistakes in that characters who we care about arent in it enough (lt. boobies and telford) whilst the boring characters constantly get airtime.

still it was always a poor mans bsg and never had any chance of being close to it.
i wish they never cancelled atlantis tbh, that was just a **** move.
 
Atlantis had gone down the pan tho, and unfortunatly they used a similiar direction - only less filler episodes - with universe.

Atlantis had the potential to be utterly epic but they wasted it :(
 
Isnt there a Stargate compute game MMO coming out soon??

That kind of thing will rekindle the SG universe?? (maybe)

you mean the one that run out of funds and released a single player game to try and generate intrest? the mmo that was suposed to run along side SG1/SGA and we could follow the storyline in the game as it unfolded in the tv series...

bit late for that now.....
 
it was getting better but i won't miss it much - in 2 seasons we have had maybe a handful of episodes worth of story.

nice to hear a new bsg pilot will be made though.
 
The BSG universe is crap tho, 10x worse than Stargate. Caprica was for what i saw teen tripe.

Im not a fan of BSG maybe cos i remember the old one too well :O

It's not crap at all... Caprica maybe but not bsg and the lore around it. I think your letting your old fuddy-duddy memories get in the way of an unbiased opinion here :D

They wont bring universe back despite new funds, it's simply betterspent elsewhere...they need to start knocking out the rest of the bond blurays which will net them a lot of pennies if they eve get round to it.

bsg had a lot of good action though and a plot that was obvious where as SGU doesnt have much action and the plot is so hidden im still trying to work out if they really had a 5year plan or not
