The New Stargate Universe Thread

Remember seeing that donkeys years ago on a "Behind the Scenes" episode aired somewhere, possibly Sky One :o

And yes it's another reason why I love that episode :D

:D

For me, the 2nd half of Season1 was great.
They ended last season on a great cliff hanger, which lead nowhere and was resolved quickly and effortlessly.
Season2 has been pretty ordinary - not bad, not great, just average. The last episode was pretty good, not great.

Does anybody know what SyFy are planning to bring in, to replace SGU?

Quote I have seen said USA version of "Being Human"

So where does Stargate stand at the moment? Didnt realise Universe had been cancelled.

It's currently standing out in ten feet of snow. MGM have sorted out their bank balance but plans for the Atlantis film which was to have gone some way towards finishing off the Atlantis story have been shelved though there was no mention of the proposed third SG-1 movie. Syfy will air the remaining episodes of Universe next year as planned but they will not be financing a third season.

Rumours are that a Canadian network are interested in procuring the rights and it would certainly be in MGM's interests to either sell the SG:U rights to another network or get another show on the tv.

For now though there is no Stargate in production and there are no plans to produce any more Stargate.

some info on their further plans for the show as well

All hope for a conclusion to SGU‘s story hasn’t faded, though. Series co-creator Brad Wright is still in talks with MGM about how to continue on in some form (story), though executive producer Joseph Mallozzi confirmed on his blog today that a full third season isn’t in the cards.

“Still no definite word on the Stargate front,” Mallozzi said. “Following a flurry of promising developments, things have gone unbearably quiet. Not a bad sign just … no sign. There’s an anticipation that good news could break any day now — but the longer the wait, the greater the challenge when the time comes. To those holding out hope that this could mean a third season pick-up — alas, this isn’t one of the scenarios in play.

“Nevertheless, as I said in a previous entry, if and when we finally do get the green light, Brad has some wonderful surprises in store for fans of SGU (as well as fans of the Stargate franchise in general).”

What the hells happening to all the good sci-fi programs these days? Seems to me if its any good the studios cancel it, utter MADNESS.
they cost money while reality shows don't and for some stupid reason people watch them  Personally I'd have some good sci fi, I suppose my collection of the classics like b5 will have to keep me going :o

Jersey Shore. Cutting edge TV right there!

But to be fair, Universe was boring as hell. It's only picked up very recently.

Deliverance (Part 2) was on last week and a new episode yesterday was on in America.

I can't even bloody remember what happened before the break! Why do the American's insist on doing this!

It wasn't really given much of a chance. It takes some times to flesh out the characters 1st then move on to the interesting stuff. I personally found it a very good series, certainly better than most of the drivel they put on tv these days. But i suppose people want instant action in order to watch something and while that's all well and good i would rather have a damn good story that can be spread over seasons with multiple twists and turns and character development rather than some CGI.
