The New Stargate Universe Thread

You wern't alone, no, and not sure. The boll on the last round of podcasts mentioned something about getting home, played out in true SGU drama. Even so, it could hardly be considered credible considering they only just got there:O

It needed more, ill wait it out for the final few eps to hit sky.

jesus forgot all about SGU...

no 3rd series right so ? wrapping up ?

No wrap up, just a normal season ender.
Hope this isn't the end of Stargate - feels like it is run its course though :(

I think franchise fatigue has really set in with Stargate, it has been constantly on the air for the last 14 years and this attempt to re-invigorate it hasn't really worked. Maybe in ten years time they could do a next generation on it but for now it's probably time to let it rest. Although I will be sad to see it go, I was really starting to like Token Black Guy as well :(

Thankfully Fringe has been renewed so at least there's some proper sci-fi still in production to keep me entertained.

Just read this had been canned, what a shame I much prefer this to all the previous incarnations of stargate. I can understand why though it's too differnent from the previous versions so not holding the older fans, and as it has the stargate tag it won't attract those that went keen on SG1/Atlantis.

That and the fact that the show has been badly handled with such long breaks in the middle of the seasons and the first half of season one was akin to watching paint dry.

What I find is that this show is not SciFi - Action. This is a point which many SciFi fans who don't like the show, fail to understand. You will almost never see any big explosions/gun-fights etc. This show is SciFi - Drama.

Its basically like a soap opera, on board a space station. Given that soap operas do tend to pull in high ratings, the makers of the show must have thought that a SciFi soap opera would do pretty well. Unfortunately, it hasn't.

IMO, as a SciFi-Drama, this show does pretty well. The last few episodes have been interesting (from a Drama point of view), but very lacklustre from a SciFi point of view.

Its a shame that the show is going to be coming to and end, as this means that will be very few SciFi shows on the telly.
