The New Stargate Universe Thread

Could someone please explain to me how the stargates are on the planets when the ship or the ancients have never been that far?

And why the gates seem to be just "plonked" any old place.

And why the lady with the great tamangas isn't in it as much as she should be?

And there, ladies and gentlemen, is the key to a rapid improvement in the series :D

If I may...

Julia Benson - Anderson was her maiden name.

In an episode a couple of weeks ago, it was clearly cold on Destiny as the coathangers were on show. I had to rewind her entrance a few times to fully grasp their magnitude.

Time was definitely the best episode so far.

- It had the sci fi element to it, classic stargate..this is good for a show with stargate in the name.

- it had its character moments but they weren't done to such a degree as other episodes where it was more of a soap opera, funnily enough the first episode without communication stones being used.

It was better than the others but average in the grand scheme of SG. Just shows how poor the other episodes have been :(

I disagree I though sg1 was very average and Atlantis just down right un-watchable. Maybe this series will suit us who weren't taken in by SG and annoy the original fans.

Quite liked the latest episode myself.

A darker ending than most stargate's finish with too. It's still not in danger of over taking SG1 as my fav, but it's got a good chance of being decent if the rest of the episode continue like that.

The latest episode was surprisingly good, I quite liked the ending even if I'm not overly enamoured with the propensity of the writers to drag storylines over as many episodes as they feel they can get away with.

That eps was a better one. Sadly upon reading the synopsis for the next episode it seems things are back to normal for the next one. Sigh.

I pretty much agree with Orange Peel. This eps just highlighted how completely poor the previous episodes of SG:U really are.

Both had likeable characters and were enjoyable to watch. SG:U doesn't, however its hardly been written to annoy the huge existing fan base. Your suggestion is ludicrous tbh.

I for one am glad I've been 'taken in' by SG1/Atlantis. Many enjoyable hours watching both series.

LOL.

I thought it was just me who noticed these magnificent appendages.

Throughout the show we are made to believe that the Senator's daughter is supposed to be the most fanciable female in the show. After seeing that scene, its difficult to see her in that way, as the femail soldier is now definitely the most fanciable.

"Life" was a bit lifeless (grabs coat and heads for taxi rank), especially in comparison to last weeks episode. I did like the documentation of life aboard the Destiny now that people are starting to settle in to the routine. Unfortunately there was more Stargate: Eastenders which bored me no end, do I really care if Scott has a son he didn't know about or that Telford is doing the horizontal bop with Young's wife, no! What I want to see is the crew traveling to other planets, exploring new lands, but yet again this was an episode of Stargate which didn't feature the Stargate :( In fact, I think there has been more travel back and forth to Earth via the communication stones than gate travel.

One last episode to go, which itself doesn't sound like it'll be very good, until the mid-season break and nothing has grabbed me yet about this new show.

The only piece of good news recently Stargate related is that there's a new SG-1 movie going ahead.

I couldn't even pay attention to the last eps and began browsing the net because it was so predictable. Talking and more talking, bonking, etc man Emmerdale is more fun than this. I've not read what the next eps is about but it won't be any decent anyway.

Well i think the seasons end has a 2 parter and the only hint is "An enemy from the milky way returns"

Lets not hope the Ori and maybe the replicators.
