The Newcastle United Club Thread **No Spoilers**

Leeds now AFAIK, it moved from Newcastle brewery to the FED and then to leeds when the FED closed. it hasn’t tasted the same since it left the the north east
Funny story about brewing ale from when I worked for a brewery. We got dozens of calls in the space of two weeks from loads of pubs and working men's clubs across the Midlands, all saying the John Smiths Magnet was off. Barrels and barrels of the stuff, hundreds even. Management were going crazy thinking there was contamination and any time another return request came in we were to notify the managers etc. Upper management were insistent nothing was wrong for weeks until they let slip that they'd moved breweries and not told anyone.

It’s the water, I can taste the difference in water when we visit my wife’s parents in the north west, no doubt it will be the same with beer as well.

They moved it to Tadcaster, don't think it was as long as 20 years ago like. You can get it on tap in loads of countries around the world. Can't in Newcastle though. Not that you'd want to, not very good imo. Was a good alterative to lager back in the day but there are so many options these days I am surprised there is even a market for it.

It's absolutely amazing the transformation at that club. It really is the beating heart of the city. I was there over Christmas and there is such a buzz about the place, you walk into a bar on a Wednesday afternoon and the blokes behind you are talking about NUFC.
You can argue the money is a factor and of course it is, the signings have been terrific, but Howe and his team have transformed players who looked like they didn't even know the rules of the game 12 months ago like Almiron and Joelinton into players who are at the very core of the way we play and how we win. Central to this imo is how fit they are these days. They not only have the mindset not to give up but the athletic ability too.
I'd urge any chairman who is contemplating employing Steve Bruce to weigh that one up before he inevitably has to pay out 2 million quid to sack him :D
