The Newcastle United Club Thread **No Spoilers**

I think you are taking my post a little too seriously. The headline is suggesting that Newcastles policy of targeting the best young talent from around the world is some sort of transformational strategy. I was simply commenting that every club tries to do that. You usually get players cheaper, on lower salaries and they are far better value.

There was no commentary on buying older players in my 10 or so words. :p
Many clubs don't do it? We never done it with any real conviction.

Chelsea do an amazing job at it and reap the financial benefits.

I'm surprised by that. Think of the long term. If you get top 4 a different class of player will be attracted to joining the club. You will get a big boost to your finances from being in the CL and its not like you don't have the money to supplement your squad to be able to compete in Europe next season.

I want a Trophy before I'm found dead with a heart attack in a ditch or something.

I want that feeling.

I think I know the answer.

Anyhows a wee European trip would be nice mind. Even if its a Thursday night one.

Would be extremely worried about our squad tho. Thursday night football is a complete nightmare.

Shocker, Joelinton started and played the whole game today. Did enjoy the 10 minutes of handwringing though.
My unscientific straw poll in the stadium before the game suggested most fans backed him being dropped. I was quite surprised he wasn't. He had a really good game too, presumably having a little bit more motivation wanting to make amends.

I don't doubt that. He was never going to be dropped because football is largely morally bankrupt. Theres a lot at stake. If you want to see the extreme end of this you should read about how American school/college football covers up the horrible things their star players do. The greater good and all that.

Really hope Bruno can recover well, but I know they won't rush him. I just hope it provokes them to push for one of their midfield targets this window. So many rumours about, Neves, Varella, Jorginho.

However, we could also opt for some experience on free transfers at the end of the season, Witsel, Kroos. Hope we can make some good additions. Anything could be an option if we got top 4.
