I think Daniel Craig makes great Bond and like Timothy Dalton, rebooted the series. When watching the most recent film I can't help think that the role is being softened again?

In the last film, Bond gets a pasting and walks away without a mark? (Pearce Brosnan territory) whereas in the earlier films, Casino Royale was pretty raw which made it such a success?

I hope (whichever actor) maintains the gritty feel...

Skinny posh boy trying to fight bad guys...

Clueless

you do realise that the fictional character himself was supposed to be a posh boy too - educated at Eton then Fettes College, then a Royal Navy reserve officer...

he's hardly that skinny and has a more realistic physique tbh... Hiddleston is pretty much the right background and right build for the character, at least from the perspective of the novels if not from the stereotypes of action stars these days which seem to require bodybuilder physiques

then again I think Idris would make a decent Bond even if way off the original fictional character

Apart from Dwayne Johnson I can't think of a single action star these days that is anywhere near what you'd call a bodybuilder unlike the action stars of the 80's like Arnie and Sly.

off topic but - are they going to make a second one, I did quite like the film?

I assumed they would. A quick Google and now I'm not so sure...

Is Tom Hiddleston in the running? I think he would be quite good.

Depends how you define 'in the running'. He's the bookies' favourite, but the odds always gravitate toward big names. In reality, that isn't how casting a big role like Bond works. We don't have any clue as to what Sony are looking for, or how potential candidates have performed at auditions. Hiddleston might not be what they're looking for, which would mean he isn't in the running despite short odds at the bookies.

People that dislike posh people irrespective of their attributes are generally bitter about being poor and working class.

Or just a bit thick.

I also fall into the "Craig only made one good Bond film" camp and was thrilled to hear that Spectre would be his last.
Tom Hiddlestone would be a good choice after seeing him him in Night Manager. All this crap about him being too skinny is a bit strange. Daniel Craig per bond was hardly beefcake material.
Also think Harry Lloyd could do a good job too but rather unlikely to happen.
