I must say though the actual build of the 3DS if of high quality and compares to the DS in terms of how comfortable it is to hold.

Can't really justify the price though at the moment, I need to see way more games on it.

May I ask how comes you are lucky enough to try this out so early?

For those who really want to play this early, Eurogamer sent me an e-mail today (and other people who have previously attended one of their Expos) announcing they are holding some sort of preview events where you can go and play the hardware on Feb 2-3 in London and Manchester. Don't have the time or inclination myself, but I am sure some others may be interested in playing it over 1 months before retail release.

No doubt it is in conjunction with a retailer (HMV?) as they mention you will be able to preorder the console at the event.

Anybody going to one of the Nintendo 3DS Pre-Release parties this weekend? Me and a friend are going to the one in Manchester on Saturday. Must admit, I'm looking forwards to it.

It's the first showing of the device and I'm guessing Resident Evil and such will be playable there so Nintendo won't let kids in

Might be some Nintendo people outside showing it off though.

The links were sent out via e-mail so not sure if they only work based on e-mail addresses.

Regardless, the 2 events were in London and Manchester only, in 30 minute slots.

I just want to check out the 3D. I know I'll like the games and I travel a lot so it's a definite purchase, but if the 3D doesn't work well for me I'll cancel my pre order and wait for price drops/more games to come out.

I got an email stating two events one in bristol and I can't remember the other. If I'd known they was doing one in London I woulda popped in after work.

I went today in Manchester was good to see all of the games there and them showing off most of the feature but they also did some of these stupid live SF4/Resi Evil scenes which were pretty dumb and awkward

Spoke to some reps in various game stores in Brum, and it seems Feb 14th is when they expect to have stock for public demoing.
