The **Now Eating** Thread

I'll take a side of steak with my steak :D

i only see one though :p
usually at such places they also have amazing and slightly unusual sides.

eating what I like to call fajita dip.
essentially fajita but diced finer still chunky, then mix in refried beans, cheese, sour cream, salsa, pickled jalapenos, and cook a little longer forming a gooey dip. Then bake a few corn tortillas in the oven until golden brown, then when you pull them out, they go super crispy. makes a good alternative to the usual.

Went with some friends to see Rogue One at the IMAX at the Glasgow Science Centre. Really good movie, would recommend you all go see it. Went with friends beforehand to the Yen restaurant at the Rotunda.

Prawn sesame toast for starter.

And crispy duck with pancakes for main. All that meat is from a 1/4 duck. They also had a 1/2 and whole duck options. There's no way I could have eaten twice as much as what I had, let alone 4 times as much. The duck was tasty :D

Pork belly ribs. Browned off yesterday and let to cool then marinated over night. 30 minutes in the oven as hot and it can go then a couple of hours low.

You need a better pic but I'm sure they were awesome. Good effort.

Had a bit of a heavy one at a friend's Christmas party last night, so the girlfriend and I decided fried chicken and waffles was the necessary cure. Oh and a fried egg on top and maple syrup of course. Waffle was a bit crunchy but it was awesome. First time at Chooks, I have a feeling we'll be back :D

Nigella's Yule log. It's like a chocolate soufflé type recipe and then you whack a load of chocolate buttercream on it and roll it up and then cover it in more buttercream. It was surprisingly easy to make. We bought a new hand mixer for it as the Mrs didn't think her old one would get enough air into the eggs. Turning it out of the paper was a bit nerve wracking as it was all soft and wobbly so you just have to go for it and flip it over onto the work surface. Rolling it up was easier than I expected - it was so soft though, so it just bent and barely cracked at all.

It was delicious.
