The **Now Eating** Thread

I forgot i ate this, 1st meal when I landed. The menu said something grilled Octopus...a sandwich turned up....I was expecting knife and fork kind of affair but this was strange.

The white stuff is mashed potatoes!

Very small town, not a lot (if anything) to do but great for a few days. I went there to shoot a small wedding so that was the main reason and that was 1 day, the other days i just walked around, eat gelato between meals.

Regarding the lake, the locals told us that it is illegal to put a fossil fuel motorised boat in it, there was also none of those swan bike things or any boat rentals, at least on the north side of the lake. Very local place, saw may be only half a dozen other English speaking people there and i was the only Asian in town.

I remember there were a few sun loungers and pedalos for hire on the south side of the lake. Not exactly a tourist hot spot though! I imagine the pace of life is very slow and it looks like you had decent weather which helps!

Were the couple Italian? Quite a specific place to do a wedding. Sound lovely and I bet the wedding food was amazing.

They are from London, it's an old friend of mine and she just looked around wedding coordinators in Italy and this person replied promptly and had a good vibe about her so that was mostly it.

The food in all the places were quite similar, but we did notice that some restaurants would open certain days, others would open another day when that one shuts. It's like they take it in turn to share the limited tourists especially in low season.

As for wedding food, they were very easy about it, had nothing planned, literally none! the day before they just walked along the water front checking each menu, 3 of them said they were shut on a Wednesday and the 1st one that sid they were opened...got the booking.

I've not had a proper curry since I left Birmingham. I'ts a bold statement but sadly true.
Can confirm, Birmingham still has amazing curry. If anything there’s too much choice!
Can't tell how much of a warm glow that gives me just knowing that.
Bring on the Chicken Tikka Balti with Keema Nan and Seekh Kebab starter... Booooom.

That looks incredible, very jealous.

I had one similar style in Manchester, it looks identical actually how everything is laid out.

It was one of the best Curry’s I have had to date, the Chicken Tikka was beautiful.

Anyway, here’s my attempt to compete with all the lovely food tonight… Nothing made from scratch, cooking alone as my daughter and partner have a bug, I’ll spare the details. :o

Oven tea! Cheesy, Garlic Pizza Bread with an 800g Lasagne (Store bought but it’s a lovely one) with a dash of Tabasco to put some hairs on my chest :D

Can't Wait..

Based off of my first thoughts when I see the fig & apple chutney, was mackerel.

Rye and wheat sourdough, toasted with a layer of fig & honey chutney added, thick bacon and smoked mackerel with a boiled egg and some crispy leaf.

It works really well with the OH wanting this more often.
