**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

no its the nvidia colours there poor. if you come from a amd card you will notice it. if you been on nvdiia for a while you wont probably.

image quality is a lot better on amd cards.

i even spoke to a technician about this recently and how i have test all the recent driver back to 344.11 . many have varying brightness/gamma ranges.

its not even new issue. go on nvidia forums about it. threads from years ago.

i had mine right after about a month of tweaking then tried newest driver cant get it same now.

I must confess I don't agree, having had cards from both camps. I think the latest Nvidia cards are fine - some say even better for colours etc. YMMV of course, and each to their own.

I've noticed no difference in IQ coming from a 295x2 to a Titan X Dg...

As above ^^^

I run both the Titan & 290X and see nothing that sets them apart in IQ/Colours etc.

Shhhh no truth telling, Mustn't tells the truthsiz it mustn't ! :p

I have a 290X and 980 and truth be told apart from the frame rate differences I can't see any difference at all in colour/IQ.

^^ Same monitor/side by side? I've not tried comparing 980/290 but compared a few AMD and nVidia cards side by side in the past and AMD has generally been slightly more vibrant but to really notice it you need identical monitors side by side with the exact same calibration. I do think though it comes with a slight loss of detail in brighter areas compared to nVidia.

Yep I have 2 x Asus VX279Q 1080P IPS panels an AMD rig *8350 and 290X* and my main rig the Intel rig *4790K and 980*.

I use the AMD rig mainly just as a file server as I got it for dirt cheap but plugged both monitors in, Zero colour difference on the monitors side by side on the same picture files etc...

It's a complete myth, The only time there are colour difference are because of monitor calibration or via the driver suit.

I went from a 2 year old 280x to a 970 GTX and I noticed no difference whatsoever

People like to exaggerate to create drama because they're bored, Quite sad actually.

As I said above I have an AMD and an Intel system 1 with a 290X and the other with a 980, Side by side with 2 identical monitors and there was no difference at all in pictures, Movies or games.

i found out of the box amd was better but just changing rgb from limited to full in the nvidia control panel made all the difference, i still found a slight difference between amd and nvidia not better or worse just slightlty different if pushed i would say with a game like bf4 amd looked better on the outdoor open part and nvidia looked better in darker areas, but then it could just be my tired old eyes and im talking piffle

hows it a myth lol :p

go on nvidia forums there are numerous threads showing and proving the difference !

i spoke to a technician at nvidia the other day who took all system specs to try and get to bottom of it.

i showed him the big threads on nvidias own forums which they ignore showing the problems.

from 344.11 to current upto date drivers there are varying brightness/gamma differences.

I have had in the past two ISO calibrated monitors attached to an AMD and NVidia rig and they were identical so yes I'm sorry I'm with the others as it's likely placebo (ie people looking for an issue)/user error.

The main problem prior to more recent drivers was the issue of when connected to an HDMI output NVIDIA didn't have the option to address the full RGB range in their drivers, you had to use a 3rd party tool to enable it.

The difference between limited and full rgb output is obvious and a number of the posts in the NVIDIA thread are to do with this issue. AMD drivers automatically adjusted for this. Thankfully after years Nvidia finally gave us a toggle in the drivers.

and you can go onto forums and find information on the loch ness monster, thats true right? I mean some guys on a forum said so.

Placebo, nothing more.

What's important to is that everyone has a different preference on how they view things, you have enough options across all cards to get it how you want it, aside from that it's moaning for the sake of it.
