I am sure I read it will be sorted in the next driver on the geforce forums and it is just a bug.
OT, Every time I try to reply to you on youtube, it doesn't let me.... Weird.
Might be a setting somewhere I shall check

Anyone by chance in the know about the next driver fixing the always on G-Sync problem ?
Latest post on the Nvidia forums has someone quoting tech support as follows:
"We did received reports of this issue and this is actually expected behavior due to recent change in the latest drivers. This was news to us as well but development confirmed this is expected behavior. In our R349 drivers including 350.12, when G-SYNC is enabled in the NV Control Panel, it is always enabled and now supersedes in-game settings. A consequence for example, is that an end-user wanting to use ULMB mode in a game, must first turn-off G-SYNC in the NV Control Panel. We are investigating alternatives for a future driver release, but for now, use the NV Control Panel to turn off G-SYNC.
Best regards,
NVIDIA Level 2 Technical Support"
This seems to contradict the earlier communications that indicated that the monitor was registering g-sync as on even though it wasn't actually except in full-screen games. I guess we'll see this sorted in the next release.
I also had a weird problem where I couldn't start Saints Row IV in full-screen mode without the title movies stuttering and then an eventual BSOD or CTD prior to or at the main menu. Works fine with previous drivers and starts up fine windowed (and I can then switch to full-screen straightaway without issues). Seems a bit odd, but definitely only happens for me with 350.12.
Thanks for the reply.
I really can't see the benefit of having G-sync always active even when on the desktop, I mean surely this would be overworking the G-Sync module ?
Yeah, I thought the same. I've disabled mine for now in NVCP since I won't be gaming for at least a week or two anyway.
I wonder here if "this is actually expected behaviour" is really PR speak for "look, someone royally screwed up and we've only just noticed but hey it's not like it's on fire or anything, right?"

Gsync can be disabled per application on the latest driver. I did it with the Heaven runs I posted screen caps of earlier. The red light stays on, but Gsync is disabled.
Here's the post with the screen caps...

Interesting thanks, Wonder if Nvidia will actually fix the LED issue though as it was a nice indicator to see when it was in use.
Although that is a nice find it's also a little redundant isn't it as it disables the ability to use Shadowplay and that's the only good feature of GFE IMO.
