**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

After much faffing around to try to get my card to downclock when idle, I finally roll back from 355.82 to 355.60 and the problem is gone.

355.82 was no doubt a pretend driver for MGS V. Fixing nothing and breaking random things.

Win 7 with 980 TI G1 here, with drivers 355.82 - 3 crashes in different places in Far Cry 4, all due to stop in NVIDIA driver, before had vanilla 980 with drivers 2-3 months old all was OK. Going to downgrade now and report.

Not used to problems with NVIDIA drivers, maybe it's all due to them changing too much code for Win 10 :/

What cards are you guys running? All I've been reading in here is about crashing etc....

I haven't had any problems at all over the last year+ with my 970. That's not to say just because I haven't had issue then there aren't any but before you look at drivers being the fault, set your gpu/cpu to stock and see what happens. It's hard to swallow (I know) but it's the first thing to do.

Oh and none of this Chrome open on one monitor and gaming at the same time nonsense. That's asking for trouble!!

Still on 353.62 here, all is superb, nothing for me to change for yet, even mgsv is running sweet on the older driver, holding a solid 60fps all the way up near 4k dsr.

Every time for months I've update to the latest drivers as soon as they were available, and every time I haven't had any issues?!

Currently on 355.82

Metal Gear Solid V and (patched) Arkham Knight both working without crashes. MGS V is using SLI.

None of the 355 branch support hardware acceleration in power director 13 which I use daily. Bit of of a deal breaker right there.

I get that they don't have certain features that people need in programs, and that there was an SLI memory issue in BF4/Hardline (now resolved)

But people often report 'Driver not responding, Display Driver Error and game crashing' every time there is a driver release.

My system has been stable as anything for months and I tend to game for hours at a time.
