**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Latest drivers are terrible for my cards. 100% usage with 45% maximum power usage, I get single card performance. This is not just with a game, this is with everything. BF4, witcher 3, 3d mark, furmark etc. Roll back to 355.98 and they are back to running at maximum power with correct power usages and frames. Very odd.

Tried everything and they wont have it. Guess ill have to wait and hope future drivers work fine.

Hi guys,

Swapping out my 780 for an EVGA 970, should I remove the nvidia drivers first. Or can I just slot it in and do a clean install for the 970?

If it were me, I'd uninstall the current drivers (in safe mode) and run something like DDU to make sure you get everything. Then install the latest drives, fresh.

I'd uninstall the drivers, swap cards then install the driver with the "clean installation" ticked. Worked for me when moving from 980 SLI to 980Ti

The .70 and .78 Dev drivers aren't so good for me either. I was really hopeful that these would end my woes..

Can anyone suggest the best driver for a Gigabyte G1 980 ti? I am getting random framedrops (60 to 30) in GTA 5 (consistent with a drop in GPU usage %) and Kernel Mode Trap errors.

I'm on Windows 10. I'm thinking whether it is better to rollback to W7...

I use the 355.98 drivers GTA V is running fine for me with it. No random drops etc.

There is no 'best driver' for a particular card, except the latest. If you have problems, it is probably a specific problem somewhere rather than just an inherent 'best/worse' case. Not saying you're doing anything wrong, but the drivers could be having trouble with some specific configuration for some software on your computer for some reason or another. With Windows 10 being new and updated regularly, there might be some conflicts going on that rolling back to older drivers just might not solve. In which case your best bet would be to go back to W7 for the time being if your problems are that bad. But that's only if that's the case. It may be something else, who knows?

If your problems only started with the drivers you mentioned, then obviously try the last ones you were using that were working before.

Gone back to Win 8.1 and the latest drivers are running perfectly. my dodgy power issue has been sorted so im getting a further 1000 points on valley bench and better fps on games. Dont think im using win 10 for a very long time.
