I have also stopped using DDU a while ago as it caused a driver to fail to install and not recognise my gpu at all.

I simply install over the top or tick the clean install option when installing the new drivers. Been pretty solid since, apart from some confirmed bugs in the drivers them selves.

Quite a few sli profiles added/updated hope this is a sign of better support in that department

Like always install over the top and it works as it should. Only time I would use DDU is if I was switching from AMD to Nvidia or vice versa; and even then I would rather do a format and start with a clean windows.
 
OK so ..still no joy...even tried updating via safe mode but all i get is failed , failed , failed .
although BF3, BF4, Titanfull and Battlefront will play and run fine...but not BF1 says it needs driver 375.63 to play BF1..but they just wont install , the driver that is installed right now is version 372.90 .

so im at a loss really .
 
Did you remove the dri add/remove first?

1. Remove 372.90 drivers from CP do GPU driver first
2 reboot
3. Install new driver use custom click clean install

Does it still fail?

I did this on a server recently with same error worked a charm
 
Hmm...I'll give that step a go, also when she booted up her PC after lunch ..she said " Dad it works " lol...but it seems windows installed the 372.90 Driver as it booted up ...this is what is allowing her to play some games but just BF1 seems to be the one non playable game.

its very good sign that MS installed a driver. means it accepting drivers from nvidia now. you should be hunky dorey :)

you may be able to just do custom clean install

even since they updated geforce experience to version 3 it messes something up, loads without nvidia settings and other issues , i have to install new version drivers with old geforce experience to have less issues .

last good driver was 373.06
 
Just spent the last 90 minutes trying to figure out why the latest WHQL drivers wouldn't install on my new build.

1070 was in and out, reaseated, 2nd PCI-E slot, different power supply.

Then I noticed!!

32 bit drivers!

Feel like a total noob :)
 
My GE software is telling me 378.49 is available for download dated 01/24/17, post above lists 376.80 beta but an earlier post on this page lists notes for 378.57. I'm a bit confused as to what the latest driver is?

Nvidia website says 378.49 - 24.1.2017 and thats' what I have installed.

Always go by the website. I never use the GFE for drivers.
