**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Do you have Spotify running? the latest version of it seems to have some issue with hardware acceleration on some of my systems it is causing crashes and/or stutter issues on the desktop especially with pointer movement.

Was that meant for me ?? If so, no I don't have it, not even signed up for Spotify. :o

Thats what afterburner is showing.

Tried several other since having them installed & still find them to best performing.

He is definitely using them, I have seen them on his futuremark links.

They probably run as the TitanP (another GP102 card) can use them.

I'm truly shocked how good these drivers are on the 1080 Ti with the new CSGO De Dust 2. It's buttery smooth compared to 385.xx and newer. Lots of huge fps dips with newer drivers, as far as 100fps. What on earth is NVIDIA doing...

Does anybody find that their card's clocks still remain too high for general desktop use, e.g. YouTube, forums, etc? The only way it seems to revert to as it should is when a restart is performed. It doesn't seem to matter what driver, or at least, it happens on a frequent basis anyway.

I've had this in the past, and its always been a program running in the background causing it.
Windows Metro apps for an example.
Even when they were shut down, they were still running in the background, requiring task manager to close them.

I've also occasionally had a webpage causing this, requiring a restart of the browser.

Thanks, Kelt, I'll take a look and see what might be causing the problem. :)

To stop metro apps from being pre-loaded, or staying loaded, you need to disable background apps in settings AND disable the Superfetch service. (Superfetch will remember the launch of a metro app and pre-load it while your PC is idle.)

[/SPOILER]

According to GPUZ my core will drop down to 300ish MHz on the desktop but my memory stays at its overclocked setting at all times.

Interestingly, it hasn't happened today. Currently, I don't seem to be able to work out what program (or whatever the reason) is causing the issue.

Running at present as it should:

I've seen it mentioned on here enough times though I've seldom looked into it, I finally turned off hardware acceleration in my browser settings.

The clocks still occasionally remain elevated when in desktop, though.
