**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

I've had it on since release. Not noticed anything special though. :p

What I want to know is what the other setting does. the one about VRR.

I mean you have Gsync or FreeSync so what is that MS toggle for?

I remember when it came, it made bugger all difference, apart from in Froza :D

Im not sure what the point of the VRR in there is tbh, not when you've already got G-SYNC/Freesync.

Ignore it, leave it off ^^^^

I have it on, its........ a thing.

Its a thing, that still doesn't do bugger all by the sounds of it :D

GeForce 457.30 WHQL Released

Game Ready for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
This new Game Ready Driver provides support for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. In addition, this driver provides optimal day-1 support for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Godfall.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is absolutely full of NVIDIA tech, including:

  • DirectX Ultimate ray-traced ambient occlusion, local shadows, and sun shadows that are RTX-accelerated for more immersive gameplay powered
  • NVIDIA DLSS to boost frame rates while generating beautiful, crisp game images.
  • NVIDIA Reflex to reduce system latency.
  • NVIDIA Ansel in the campaign enables you to frame and snap unique hi-res screenshots.
  • NVIDIA Highlights in Multiplayer, ensuring your most entertaining in-game moments are automatically recorded and saved.
‘Destiny 2’ Gets More Responsive with NVIDIA Reflex
NVIDIA Reflex is a revolutionary suite of GPU, G-SYNC display, and in-game technologies that measure and reduce system latency in competitive titles. With the release of our new Game Ready Driver, and a Destiny 2 game update, players of Bungie’s co-op and competitive game can improve responsiveness by up to 49%. Look for NVIDIA Reflex to be supported by Destiny 2 on November the 10th.

Four New G-SYNC Compatible Displays
The G-SYNC Compatible program expands the G-SYNC ecosystem and aims to bring consistency and educate consumers on which displays will provide a good entry level variable refresh rate (VRR) experience. The newly-validated monitors are the Acer CP3271U V, Asus XG27AQ, MSI MAG274QR and Xiaomi Mi 245 HF, giving gamers even more choice when searching for a great gaming display.

You know the drill ;)

Grenadiers were nasty, I loved that class. Hallways would light up yellow. :D They rarely took the flag on 2stag.
Recon and Agent were a pest but Agent on pubs were hilarious.

Soldier and Sniper were my mains. I'd mostly be Soldier or Grenadier in clan games.

Engineer's supply station was frightening though when it was maxed out with ammo.

Yeah agents, they could be a nightmare when you faced of good player. Or on publics :D

Darting them and watching them move so slowly with green gas was so hilarious, or a Medic infecting the other team on pubs infecting the others. The other team was livid. Or the Agent sneaking about and knifing them then turning back into the other teams player.

Hey guys I'm having some stuttering in games and it's like the game is pausing for a split second which happens at random intervals but very often like multiple times per minute depending on a game.
I'm running stock 3700X with 16GB 8 Pack 3600 cl 16 ram and 3080 FE (tried stock and undervolted with same results) on a MSI X470 Gaming Pro motherboard.
CPU and GPU thermals are under control (60c max on the CPU and 60-70 on GPU).
The stuttering occurs regardless of which drive a game is running from but I'm usually running games from separate NVME drive just for games.
My mobo is running latest bios and I have latest chipset drivers installed with Ryzen balanced power plan..
Tried installing fresh operating system with only chipset and graphics drivers installed but it is exactly the same.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Edit: forgot to add that I have Corsair RM850i power supply running in single rail OCP mode and two separate cables powering the GPU.

Having lived the stuttering nightmare for the last few months i would make sure you have the 20h2 update and so far 457.09 ive had the best luck with. There was a windows update recently that had something to do with the problem too. The latest driver seems to have a bigger list of required fixes than features these days :(

BUG :

Adding Sharpen Via Nvidia Control Panel specific to Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War BREAKS the lighting in Zombie Mode, if Raytracing is turned OFF

RTX 2070
DLSS ON

Heads up! - Sharpen doesn't work by default using the Nvidia control panel for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War as it breaks lighting, so it's disabled (OFF)! You can however use Geforce Experience + Sharpen Filters instead
