**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Thanks for the suggestions @mrk. Already tried both 60Hz and 120Hz and there's no difference, I'd also already tried 2/3 of the Displayports on the card, just tried the third and it's even worse! That does point to the ports potentially being the issue. Will have to grab a HDMI cable and try them next.

For giggles, this is the third port:

You may have just cracked it, if so I'm very grateful - I'd have (had) got fed up messing with cables otherwise! I've just switched to a different DP on the monitor and switched to the third port on the card (the previously very flickery one) and that constant flicker has gone away. I'm hoping that's a good sign and will give it a proper test after work.

I was trying to avoid touching any clock/voltage settings even though I knew it was a possibility. Probably the wrong thread for all this seeing as it isn't looking like a driver issue, the big thing for me initially was it only seemed to happen in certain games. After (potentially) noticing it with nothing running and then trying the third port that clearly isn't the issue :p

Newest driver is trash, 3070 isidling with GPU fluctuating into 3D clocks.

If you mean the newest non studio drivers, 522.25, Then it's likely a program on your end keeping idle clocks high, I've installed this on 3 separate systems, 2080 Super, 3060 and 3090Ti, Clocks at idle are all around 200MHz with no fluctuations.

The 4090 LN2 GamerNexus vid had a dude with the same problem in chat.
There is nothing in the background.

Nope, all working good here (apart from the Cyberpunk 2077 map corruption).
You say that but I've just this morning installed 522.30 and the map in CP2077 is fine for me, was expecting it not to be...

Maybe coz its the latest release? Not sure if the fact they are studio drivers rather than game ready has any bearing

Really?

I'll give these a go then and see if its fixed (for me) .

EDIT:

Yes, the CP2077 map works with this release, question is, does it have the 522.30 driver have the 522.25 optimisations?

Had a quick google, can't find a definitive answer, but these will do until the next release, not like I'm struggling for FPS anyhoo.

That's a very old bug, sometimes an Nvidia clean install works(but if you run custom game profiles they'll be wiped out), but not always with a reinstall of the last working driver required.

Never usually a problem unless a game pops up a specific newer driver required.
