**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Definitely don't feel it's worth it. It does look better but I feel MadVR's upscaling for MPC does a better job. Plus Firefox is my main browser so I can't really take advantage of it for YouTube and Twitch. And seeing the extra power draw... I'm leaving it off.

dont know if its not working or not I dont see any difference tried on 1440p monitor playing 480p/720p and also 4K 65inch oled , also I notice the extra power its using , while with nvidia shield the AI upscalling is noticable on the same content

I grabbed the slim version from guru and no crashes on mw2 yet even with rebar on. It might be boosting slightly higher too

Seems to be a bug in 531.18 that causes the Nvidia Container to randomly max out a CPU core until you manually end the process. Nvidia now partially acknowledge this in their official notes, but for now only say it can happen when exiting a game, but I've seen it happen at other times as well. Rolling back to 528.49 for now.

May roll back to the last driver as well because closing that container process is annoying. Noticed it about two days ago as I use one of those old Vista sidebar gadgets to monitor CPU/GPU usage.

BSOD issue with the driver too, no wonder there wasn't a Studio driver release for this version. This is why I never install game ready drivers any more, they can be buggy as they do not undergo as extensive testing. Last driver version saw studio and game ready at the same time coming out, so I updated, but this time only game ready came out, clearly they were letting you lot beta test it :p

Always use Studio version for ultimate stability, and no performance issues.

So far I've not had either issue with these drivers, so far. Not sure if some games or GPU families are more affected by it than others.

I suddenly lose signal to my LG CX Oled and the fans on my 4090FE go 100% this whilst the pc is idling at random. Only a hard reboot solves it. I'm going to DDU to previous version to see if it is the new driver.

I have not updated the past few releases (games and fixes had nothing for my setup). Seems nvidia isnt immune to driver issues like some have you believe. :)

I had this exact behaviour when my 3rd party 12VHPWR cable was faulty, Not melty just faulty like a lose cable that would make the card lose power so I'd get a black screen followed by fans at 100%. Went back to the stock Nvidia octopus and that sorted it.

I get the same problem with my 4090 periodically but using AIB, same display. Sometimes it happens after installing the driver and I change from 8 bit to 10 bit as well. Restart fixes it but annoying nonetheless.

Did not realise studio version drivers were a thing. Good to know.

Game Ready drivers are for people buying the latest games.

If you are playing games from 3 months+ ago then studio will be fine.

Never touched a studio driver and can count on one hand the number of nvidia driver issues I've had over the years. That said, I'll only update to a game ready driver for the odd new title I buy on release or if it includes some performance benefits. Rarely ever update the same day the driver comes out.

I've been playing the latest games with studio drivers for ages, never an issue, and no real world difference in performance vs the game ready version. Studio drivers are inherently exactly the same driver, just undergo more testing to assure stability and reliability. Sometimes they come out the exact same time as game ready drivers, same version of the driver like the previous release. his time round we know why they didn't do that, because the Studio version is still under stability testing.
