**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

As a sidenote, there is definitely something off about this current GRD/Studio driver in terms of display sleep/wakeup. I thought maybe it was the AW3423DW before but this does not seem to be the case since it's happened twice today. When Windows sends the display sleep command after 20mins, the monitor goes to sleep, and it sometimes doens't wake up as it goes to a deep power down state and only power cycling the wall plug of the monitor brings it back.

With this driver I get periodic mouse freezes, same on both systems...

In terms of "SLEEP" I don't have that option selected, only a screen saver because I don't want my monitor to shut off unless I do a Pixel Refresh.

Might be worth doing that instead?

That's exactly what I said :p

Monitor sleep = now off, screensaver (black screen because OLED) = on after 5 mins. Pixel refresh prompts every 4 hours, I just do those manually as only takes 5 mins.

General consensus is that driver 537.58 is the GOAT still, and people are sticking to that until NV sort their crap out.

I might drop down to 537.58 even.

Odd, all I saw was you saying about your monitor going to sleep, rather than a screensaver constantly running.... On my screen it has a Windows 11 logo spinning.

No black screen yet

It's not a notewrthy or noticeable difference in this context. I've been working with image formats with varying qualities all of my professional life.
It depends on the image content of the particular game, but JPEG compresion can make a substantial difference. Also I don't know exactly how imgur works, but there could be the potential for it to compress one image and not the other if it goes over some file size threshold. There's no real reason not to use PNG for comparisons and it eliminates the question mark over the validity of the test.

I had a really strange problem occurring with the 551.23 drivers installed, using Windows 11. When I would shut down the PC it would leave the GPU RGB lights, and fan, on my 4080 running. The fans would be low, with the RGB lit. It would stay like that until I held the off key.
Of course that would cause a problem with Windows not shutting down correctly, even tho there was no monitor signal and nothing else was responsive. The odd time, if left, it would eventually switch off the GPU *if* left long enough.
Going back to my previous drivers 537.58 and all is well.

really? i had heard it will be 2025 until we see those due to the fact the SUPER 4*** are only just out.

I honestly stopped taking much notice of hardware release dates and just enjoying what I have so I am admittedly very out of the loop.

50 series is said to slip into 2025 which is why the 4090 Super rumour has resurfaced.

Nvidia will be taking a big financial hit if they do have a 4090 Super considering it will basically be an Ada RTX 6000 which they can usually sell for £8000 to the workstation/AI/ML types.
