**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Windows 11 updated to 24h2? that has caused quite a few gaming issues.
Just 23h2. Haven't got the option for 24h2 yet.

[edit]
And this morning more digging was done. Uninstalled the beta app and reverted to the Geforce experience and still no go. Uninstalled frameview sdk and then reinstalled drivers. Still nothing.

Full DDU removal of driver, app and experience and a clean install of the latest driver (which I've been using anyway) and fps is back!

DSR is still not working. Still just allows the mouse pointer to move in the top left quarter of the screen. I'm going to not bother with it for now. FPS counter is back which was the more useful thing anyway.

DDU/cleaning etc hasn't been needed for a long time, never seen any issues, now on 24H2 as well and gaming performance is exactly the same right down to single digit fps etc.

Just update via the installer, click clean install if you want, though that's not necessary either.

No, not a clean install, clean drivers. I mean drivers that have had stuff like Telemetry and all that removed so you just install the driver and stuff.

Is there a good guide for how to do it and what to remove? I used pre-cleaned ones in the past but it keeps getting passed around. Also I've recently started using the studio driver and the pre-cleaned ones tend to be the game ready version

There is a guide.

You can also use this and it will do it for you.

This is what i do.

Select and extract the following using 7Zip. (Add HDAudio if needed)

Then edit the setup.cfg file in notepad to remove these 3 lines at the bottom of the file, save and exit. (Make sure it saves as .cfg and not .txt)

Then use the .exe to install. (i always do a clean install)

Look at few comments up. He is saying that seems to add a few things in itself.

That is why I do mine manually.
It seems to do something where it adds something that monitors the install.

After I used it I then tried to manually remove the geforce experience folder from the zip (as I believe you do when you do it manually). When I then tried to install the monitoring thing it added errored because it couldn't find a file it was expecting.

If all you're worried about is telemetry:

Download Autoruns.

Install the OG driver offline then run Auto runs, disable NV telemetry>restart online.
Well it's telemetry and any other things I don't know about. Plus I've got more than 1 PC to install it on, so if I can make a version that I can just install normally rather than having to faff around I'd rather spend the time upfront.
Still, handy to know about the options available, thanks.

I've just tried the "stripped down" method a few posts above. You wouldn't of thought there'd be so much bloat in a graphic driver. I never use GFE as I prefer setting graphic settings in game myself without something else trying to take over.

May look to see if I can get it scripted so it auto downloads latest driver, extracts only the needed folders, and then does a clean install.
