**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

FFS...:mad:when will Nvidia fix the bug that keeps resetting my desktop colours back to their washed out, overly bright defaults.

Everytime I reboot I have to manually select 'use Nvidia settings'.

how frigging difficult can it be to fix such a trivial bug..

It might not be the colors, but output is set to limited by default with new driver install.

With the latest driver:

Go to > Nvidia control panel > Change resolution > Output Dynamic Range > (Change to full ).

No, I've been using the 'full range' option ever since they introduced it a few drivers back, and the unofficial 'Nvidia full range colour unlocker' app that somebody released before that.

It is so annoying, as when the desktop first appears, my modified settings are being used, then about a second later the washed out defaults will reset them.

This is definitely some kind of driver bug, overriding my settings.

Yeah that's definitely weird, I have to change mine to (full) every time I install a new driver and then it's fine. On (limited) it's washed out like you describe.

Maybe to do with your particular monitor, what monitor / cables are you using?

Ughhhh

I installed 352 this evening to test GTA V and then removed them because they were just the worst... really bad.... How???
It had been said in here mind you but R* wanted it done for my ticket and anything to amuse..

Revert back to 350, No crashes!!!! ummmm

In fact GTA V is now running better than before I uninstalled them earlier...

NOW!

Log back in here and there is New new drivers!

AAgghhh!

Lol, Nvidia release drivers all the time, and AMD hardly ever do.. You just can't win !! :D:p

This is GeForce Hot Fix driver version 353.12 that addresses the following issue:

· G-Sync Windowed mode issue

The driver can be found here:

More information about Hotfix drivers:

A GeForce driver is an incredibly complex piece of software, with more lines of code than the entire Windows OS. We have an army of software engineers constantly adding features and fixing bugs. These changes are checked into the main driver branches, which are eventually run through a massive QA process and released.

Since we have so many changes being checked in, we usually try to align driver releases with significant game or product releases. This process has served us pretty well over the years but it has one significant weakness. Sometimes a change that is important to many users might end up sitting and waiting until we are able to release the driver.

The GeForce Hotfix driver is our way to trying to get some of these fixes out to you more quickly. These drivers are basically the same as the previous released version, with a small number of additional targeted fixes. The fixes that make it in are based in part on your feedback in the Driver Feedback threads and partly on how realistic it is for us to quickly address them. These fixes (and many more) will be incorporated into the next official driver release, at which time the Hotfix driver will be taken down.

To be sure, these Hotfix drivers are beta, optional and provided as-is. They are run through a much abbreviated QA process. The sole reason they exist is to get fixes out to you more quickly. The safest option is to wait for the next WHQL certified driver. But we know that many of you are willing to try these out.

These HotFix drivers represent a lot of additional work by our engineering teams, I hope they provide value for you. We’ll try it out and see if people like the idea and want us to continue.

Booms too caught up in the AMD Fury X hype to care about nVidia drivers anymore, you can slowly see him turning red again :D

Ha I'm not Green or Red, not interested in all that guff mate. Both company's could do better and the fangirls on either side are very tiresome :D.

Right now Titan X is on top. Interested to see AMD's upcoming cards, hopefully even better performance.

I'm staying well away from that Fiji thread until we get some solid info. Launch is less than 2 weeks, and people acting like a bunch of lady's moaning about this and that haha.

So these drivers are old? Oops I just installed them. Is there anything newer?

Apart from what you mentioned, they haven't fixed the "Driver has stopped responding" issues that many are reporting.

Cheers, I'm getting a weird sort of hanging / freezing when I've got web pages up, using Firefox with Hardware Acceleration turned off. Not had this before, weirdly is happening around since the past few drivers? I just put it down to Firefox but could this be being caused by drivers?

Not getting crashes or lock ups in game but have been booted back to desktop while playing Witcher 3, only once or twice though in long play times..

Maybe this is drivers then?

Yep you got it!

Thankfully I've been online for three hours using GeForce iCafe 352.94 Driver WHQL and have no issues. Won't be going back to the 353.x's any time soon

The web page freeze / lock up thing is really annoying. Especially when trying to stream.

Going to do a clean install with those iCafe 352.94 and wait for some new drivers that peeps report ok here.

One thing I like about the iCafe drivers is you don't get GeForce Experience and all the other bits that I have no use for.

Problem free web browsing / streaming since going back to 352.94, there's definitely something going on with the 353 Drivers.

Are those the ones that supposed to fix 7XX series performance issues? Maybe they broke 9XX in the process lol. Will wait for 354 :)

350.12 is 100% stable for me newer ones both crash ingame or on desktop. Will retry them without chrome if i get time as normally chrome lives open on my desktop

Managed to play a few hours of Witcher 3 last night with no problems on 350.12. Browsing / streaming is fine as well. Like I said before, I am worried that now I have written this it will start happening again lol. So far though 350.12 seems rock solid.

Another driver rushed out to support a game without fixing the real issue many people are getting and still has known issues in the game it's being released for...

Just makes the switch to AMD Fury X easier as long as nVidia keep doing this...

Haha, I feel like I'm stuck in the middle. Neither company are perfect. Wish there was a third option tbh.

I base my purchase purely on hardware. So if Fury X is faster, or similar and really does run at sub 40c I could see me switching.

When it comes to drivers, there is no such thing as perfect. Both camps have issues.

If only Samsung made GPU's :D

I find the very last minute updated minimum specs for Batman very odd....

AMD Radeon HD 7950 (3 GB Memory Minimum)

That is still a pretty high-end card, are they basically admitting there is minimal AMD optimisation for this game?

I have an Nvidia card, but still think this stinks.

Agreed, the whole thing is weird.

It's kind of funny, at least people are starting to wake to the fact that there are no perfect drivers. AMD and Nvidia both experience problems. Although Nvidia have released a lot of drivers this year, most of them have caused system instability. I can't ever remember a time when we had this many drivers still with no fix for glaring issues before. .

I bet ya when Fury X launches you will still get that guy who says 'Yeah but AMD's drivers suck' :D

Some comments from that link,

So WTF is this crap. I thought AMD was the one with the driver issues. I get more crashes to desktop then i've ever seen. Pay the insane premium for a Nvida card and get worse drivers then AMD would give.

Every driver after 350.12 crashes while browsing with Chrome and has random game CTD's.

I would think this is a huge embarrassment for a company like yours which claim to have the best driver support.

Give us for once a working driver, and no more these junk drivers which crash constantly ... !!!

Go Home, Nvidia, you are drunk!

I'm feeling buyers remorse on the 980TIs now. Good thing I have 30 days to decide. I really want to try X-fire Fury X after this insult.

I'd much rather use AMD drivers that only update every 3 months or so over Nvidias constant barrage of degrading drivers on new hardware.

Please fix this urgently, or you risk loosing your customer base.

It's the 3rd time in a row that nvidia releases broken drivers, 352.86, 353.06 and 353.30 are less stable and have worse performance than 350.12, GTA 5 is unplayable with the new drivers yet 350.12 works perfectly. FIX YOUR DRIVERS!

Getting random crash/freeze in a lot of games (Witcher 3, Saints Row IV, Marvel Heroes, etc) with 2X 980 Ti SLI at stock, no overclocking.

Ten minutes after installing these ones i´ve got a TDR chrome crash again!
Three drivers in a row and the same issues all the time :-( It seems to be hopeless and after years of driver success nvidia comes to their limits... really sad and annoying, i´m disappointed!!!

Anyone else having some HDMI issues? After update PC doesn't detect TV screen anymore. Even tried rollback to previous version, still nothing.

Nvidia seems hiding in the bushes atm because no one is responding to this thread :) Is this how you nvidia handle your customers? Your asking premium price for your card and this is what you give?

More crashes than the stock market.
