You Can wear trainers anywhere in liverpool now so thats not a problem.

Lynneleigh are you sure we are talking about the same place? Fighting in garlands? I must have been a hundred times and I can only remember 1 fight and that was just a scuffle really!
You can't wear trainers anywhere! (Don't let Gilly hear you say that :()
One of the bars I went to on sat had a notice outside stating "no trainers, no denim"!
Saying that, a lot of my chick friends wore jeans  (then again, they have breasts :D)

Does it really matter? The venue has been changed now to one which should suit everyone.

Indeed
A bar in Matthew street is all I can tell you. I was too out of it to remember the name but I pointed the sign out because my girlfriends had jeans on and one of the guys had smart trainers on (but they were black) Girls ahem, low tops yeah, so everything was okay ;)

Fair enough I was just trying to make a point that people will be able to turn up in trainers
That would always be the plan, as I know several people (myself included) are far more comfortable in trainers, and if there is somewhere available where we can all enjoy ourselves, and trainers are welcome, then that's where we'd pick.

Just some extra info about this private area that Lynne has just told me (this is all from memory, so may not be 100% correct). It's classed as upstairs, but it's really only 5/6 steps into the area. When you go down you're right by the dance area, which should be good for picture taking, and perving at the ladies (not me of course, I'm taken). There should be a fair bit of seating upstairs, and given that it's private, and the fact we should have quite a few people sat down at any one time, any bags/coats that are left there should be completely safe (and no-one but us are allowed in the private area as well). :)

Count me out for Bar Med - if it isnt the Krazyhouse I dont go to Liverpool on nights out :)

Aye, your choice. Personally I go for meeting people. I have well-known problems with clubbing, so if the venue doesn't suit, I get an early night. At least I've still met the people and had a good day/night out.

That's your choice. However, the reason Bar Med has been chosen is simple, and that is that everyone should have fun there. The reason for this meet isn't to go out and get smashed or dance the night away (though it will happen for some of us ;)), primarily it's a chance to meet fellow OcUK peeps and have a great time. The venue is important as it needs to be somewhere that most people will like, and the ones who aren't too keen can put up with it as it's not offensive. Bar Med fits that description perfectly I feel.

Quite simply, and I say this to anyone who may bitch about the choice of venue, if you want to come along to meet fellow OcUK members, then do so. If you want a raving night out that fits with your taste of club perfectly, organise one of your own. I know that might sound harsh to some, but to suit the majority that's how it has to be.

As someone else has said, I'm going for the people, not the venue.
It shouldn't be that big a deal really.

EDIT: completely agree with you Davey. Lynnie (and yourself) are doing a great job with trying to accomodate for everyones tastes. Obviously isn't enough hey

Lynnie dunno if its ok to throw me over to definate, since it should in holiday time for uni. As i live in Liverpool, i'll only have to hop the train to get there, so im definate i can be there! :)
