The OcUK Powerlifting Totals

You may find it impressive, but it is not inherently more impressive from any impartial pov is the point I attempted to make. You sell yourself short when denigrating your own achievements. Adding in ad hominem attacks does nothing to support your opinion and is rather bad form.

I don't think anyone here is saying lifting 3x bodyweight is not impressive in and of itself, just not the be all and end all where a system like Wilks levels the playing field across the sprectrum, despite being imperfect.

NB Power is the force generated over time, strength is the maximal force generated irrespective of time.

Jesus, lie, epic lift.

3xBW check :D think you just won yourself a lifetime key to FF....

Also, the weight on the bar looks epic. Just the pure amount of it!

Edit: overtaken ice now on pure lifts, judging by first page!

LiE you are a freak, stop it. Awesome lift, no straps either! I couldn't even hold onto that let alone lift it, I also enjoy the fact the bar is pretty much 'full up'. Did you have to stop everyone else working out so you could borrow their weights lol.

I was arguing FOR the Wilks system? :/

And I said I find power more impressive than strength - so I'm agreeing with the laws of physics, but just disagreeing with your perspective. Am I not allowed that?

It's only in the game of ultimatums, if I had to choose one over the other, I'd choose power. If I didn't have to choose I'd chose to be powerful & strong.

A) Person weighs 60kg - shifts 400kgs.
B) Person weighs 120kg - shifts 600kgs.
C) Person weighs 80kg - shifts 600kgs.

C) is the ultimate goal - I won't deny that. And is the most impressive of all.

But between a) and B) - I choose A). Although the wilks system will still rate B) as higher - which is totally fair. However there won't be much in it. And furthermore, the powerlifting weight classes would set them apart anyway.

Thanks everyone!

I can't touch ice on deads and squat tbh. He's repping 250!

I wanted to use the 15s but for some reason each week there are less and less of them...so I had to resort to using some 10s and a 5 and more 20s than I'd like.

that's because more and more of the plates are ending up downstairs for some crazy reason. I think there is enough plates downstairs now to fill the weights tree 2x over!
